Well, sit back and enjoy….
The day had finally arrived. It was a cold February morning. It was the event all of Arendelle was talking about. Today, Princess Anna of Arendelle was getting married to Kristoff Bjorgman, Arendelle’s Official Ice Master and Deliverer. Queen Elsa had spared no expense in ensuring her younger sister had the wedding of her dreams. The little cathedral (the same one Elsa was crowned queen at) was full of townspeople, visiting dignitaries, and ice harvesters, the cathedral decorated with ice-blue ribbons, white flowers, and snowflakes. The choir sang an uplifting song. Elsa stood beside the bishop. She was regally dressed in an ice-blue gown adorned with snowflakes. She wore her crown, her platinum blonde hair down and adorned with snowflakes.
Kristoff stood on the opposite side of the bishop. He sure cleaned up really nicely. He was dressed in a black suit jacket, black pants, new ice harvester’s boots, an ice-blue vest, cummerbund, cravat, and white shirt. His longish, shaggy blond hair was neatly brushed back from his clean-shaven, ruggedly handsome face. Snowflakes dotted the cravat and cummerbund. The music played. Kai emerged with Anna. A hush fell over the entire cathedral as the steward to the royal family escorted Arendelle’s Crown Princess down the aisle to the altar. Anna’s gown was white lace and silk, adorned with ice-blue snowflakes. She wore a tiara that matched Elsa’s crown, her veil attached to it. Her strawberry hair was down, an ice-blue ribbon tied in it. Her bouquet was of white roses, white lilies, and rare white crocuses (the crocus was Arendelle’s flower). A simple strand of white pearls adorned her throat. Kai released Anna’s arm, then took his seat. Anna handed Elsa her bouquet, then turned to face Kristoff. The music stopped.
The bishop spoke. “Dearly beloved,” he said. “We are gathered here today to witness the act of holy matrimony between Princess Anna of Arendelle and Kristoff Bjorgman, Arendelle’s Ice Master. If there is anyone here who objects to this union, speak now or forever hold your peace.” No one spoke out against Anna marrying her true love. “In lieu of me speaking, the couple have decided to speak their own vows to one another,” the bishop said. “Whoever wishes to commence may do so.” Anna dug into her cleavage and pulled out a folded piece of paper. She unfolded it and read aloud:
“Kristoff, I thought I knew what true love was before you came into my life. You showed me that I was wrong. You showed me what true love really was. I could never imagine my life without you in it. You are my rock that I cling to in a storm. You are my best friend. You are the one I run to if I need a shoulder to cry on, a comforting hand, a warm smile, and anything else I need, you give to me without question. You healed the hole in my heart. Without you, I’d be only a shell of a person. I vow today to give myself to you and only you, from this day forth until our spirits join again in Heaven. I love you.”
Kristoff smiled, unshed tears glistening in his eyes, which matched the unshed tears glistening in Anna’s eyes. He reached into his jacket pocket, pulled out a folded piece of paper, unfolded it, and read aloud:
“Anna, I never knew that I’d end up meeting my true love at a trading post. I never thought I’d even be getting married. You changed all that. You are the little starling that had single-handedly renewed my faith in people. You opened up my heart, which had been closed for so long. You taught me about true love, too. I could never imagine my life without you in it. You are the fire in my heart. You are my best friend. You are the one who soothes me if the world has grown too rough. Yours is the touch I yearn for when the demons run rampant in the night. You give of yourself to me without question, with full trust. You gave light to a heart that had grown dark over the years. Without you, I’d likely shrivel up and die. I vow today to give myself to you and only you, until we depart this life into the hereafter together. I love you.”
Upon hearing their vows, so sincerely spoken, there was not a dry eye in the entire cathedral. Elsa approached. She held a crown that was similar to Anna’s tiara. She stood in front of Kristoff. “Kristoff Jorvik Bjorgman, please kneel,” she said. He quickly complied. “Words can never speak the gratitude I felt for you helping my sister so selflessly in saving Arendelle and helping me. In the time since, I’ve grown very fond of you. You are so like a brother to me. I humbly bestow the title of Prince of the North Mountain upon you and welcome you into my family.” She placed the crown on his head. “Rise, Prince Kristoff of Arendelle.” He rose. Anna smiled. She took his hands, having him face her again. Elsa gave Kristoff Anna’s ring. The bishop spoke.
“Do you, Kristoff Jorvik Bjorgman, take Princess Anna Freya Lind of Arendelle, to be your lawfully wedded wife? To have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, for better or for worse, until death do you part?” “I do,” Kristoff said, placing the silver wedding band on Anna’s left ring finger. It was beautiful with the heart shaped ice crystal (made by Elsa’s magic) in the center. Elsa handed Anna Kristoff’s ring. The bishop spoke again. “Do you, Princess Anna Freya Lind of Arendelle, take Kristoff Jorvik Bjorgman, to be your lawfully wedded husband? To have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, for better or for worse, until death do you part?” “I do,” Anna said, placing the silver wedding band on Kristoff’s left ring finger. It was similar to Anna’s but no centerpiece. The crystals around the band were ice made by Elsa’s magic. They held hands and lost themselves in each other’s eyes. The bishop spoke.
“By the powers vested in me by Her Royal Highness, Queen Elsa Reina Lind of Arendelle and by God, I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride.” Kristoff bent low. Anna raised up on tiptoe. He held her waist. She held his broad shoulders. Their lips met in a soft, loving kiss, which lasted a little longer than it should have. They reluctantly let go. The bishop spoke when Anna and Kristoff turned to look out at everyone in attendance. “I now present to you Princess Anna and Prince Kristoff Bjorgman of the North Mountain.” Everyone cheered as the newlyweds walked out of the cathedral, Elsa right behind them. Everything was perfect in Arendelle today and true love, pure and honest, became official, and everyone was perfectly fine with the unconventional royal family of Arendelle.
