Update: Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang
A quick update:
1. (Less than 2 weeks ago) Finished Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang, which I thought was a very good read following her Horizontal Life novel. I have yet to read her first of three books, the vodka one. I think the third novel shows the author's increasing maturity in both where she is in life and the development of characters, making them more real. I also LOVED the couple of candid photos she put in. All in all a light, funny read on the beach, with maybe just an inkling of a more "serious tone" She definitely uses humor instead of hate in describing what would be seen as blatant flaws in characters she loves.
But, you just have to read it, because I just sucked at describing it. (therefore from now on I am just going to name the books I read and tell you thumbs up or down).
2. Halfway thru Jane Eyre.... I'm very into it.
3. Starting to think more seriously about actually comprising that resume.
4. Presently, making rice over the stove (for the first time), and attempting basil beef.
5. Getting AC repaired in car (car expected to be fixed tomorrow) & hopefully as planned, will be trading cars with financial benefactor for a 2010 Lexus ES 300 if all goes as plans.
6. My beau started reading The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho [I was ecstatic to see him reading something other than comics and Men's Health (which btw SUPERB publication for it's eye-brow raising survey data).
7. He also bought me the book I wanted, Arrest-Proof Yourself written by Dale C. Carson and Wes Denham, which will hopefully, gently ease my reading taste into the law section at Barnes & Nobles. *I will say more about this book later as I think the book's marketing has not been tantamount to it's worth as social commentary on the repercussion of the criminal system and governmental systems on a larger scale.
