Despite my blog being centered around animation, drawing and the occasional meme- I actually really fucking care about what’s happening to our planet. 

I want to reduce my carbon footprint, downsize to the tiny house, solar, compost, etc.  the whole shebang. While I want to, I don’t necessarily have the career or the funds to do so right now. So I'm living with my parents...

They aren’t so onboard about going a little more green, or steering our country towards greener infrastructure and combating climate change. They realize climate change is a real danger, but to them, they’ll never live long enough to see the consequences or humanities extinction. 

OKAY, we recycle and don’t buy into consumerism all that much. We very much use everything until it can no longer be used. and even then my dad uses some of those discarded items for projects or rags. 

But we throw out so much garbage in a week that the dump actually complains about it, we get sent complaints and restrictions often. My mom throws out food we could compost, items are thrown away that could be sent to a recycling plant and we use a lot of plastic where we could eliminate it. 

I’ve tried talking to my family about going a little greener in the house but they say it’s as green as it’s gonna get. 

It makes me madly irritated but it is not my house, I did not pay the mortgage. But while that’s true, it hurts they’d brush me off so lightly about something they know I really care about.

Part of me knows the reason they won’t change some habits is because of convenience. and I think that’s the same for a lot of people.  

My grandfather once told me after one of my frustrated rants that the reason most people won’t change is that it’s not convenient and it’s not easy. It requires effort in daily life. And it can be expensive! Money is also a big factor! 

It’s what’s hindering myself right now! is Money. 

It can be annoying remembering the bags for the grocery store, the reusable containers, stainless steel straws, etc.  Washing the reusable napkins, rags, etc. Not buying into trends. Running out of shower time and hot water (just like my Grandpa does. He at the very least tries to apply greener habits in his daily life) not being able to just throw things in the trash. Taking things to the compost instead! 

Having to be more careful about what you recycle. can you recycle it? Where are certain things recycled? Is it possible in your area? what recycling programs do you have close to you? There’s a lot to consider! 

Solar is expensive and transitioning an entire house to that energy is going to cost money! Compost toilets cost more than a regular toilet! (unless it’s homemade but would not recommend) and you gotta get all up close and personal with your business! It can be kinda gross! 

But while it can be difficult it can and will have long-lasting benefits. HOWEVER

 I’m not asking my family to do all of this stuff or live in a tiny house and sell all their belongings! I asked if we could start composting some of the food we waste.

But my family just finds it funny. They call me their hippie daughter. and while I take the nickname with endearment sometimes. it also means I’m a joke with wild dreams. It’s very frustrating. 

But they are letting me stay with them. It’s their home and their rules and I must respect that.

How does Zara feel about dogs? or pets of any kind?

Honestly? Zarra would love to have a pet. A quiet, calm companion that she could coexist with? That just sounds like heaven to her. But she also knows how impractical it would be with the life she leads. She’s very careful to not mention this want to any of her kin. They’re all ridiculous and would jump on the chance to give her a small fuzzy friend.

Between all the coalition commanders, is Matt the youngest?

Yes he is! A lot of the “ages” of Coalition members are relative, since various species can have vastly different lifespans, but in both maturity and amount of time spent alive, Matt’s the youngest Commander.

Hello!! I've got more questions. :) I was wondering- Do the commanders all have different roles within the coalition? I've just noticed Matt tends to specialize in tech management and info. And Leilani with her healing?

Leilani is a healer so they run the infirmary and direct the actions of all the active healers on board, while also serving as the supervisory head for any health related issues that might occur throughout the Coalition or on allied planets. , They are also the primary diplomatic force of the Coalition. Being an empath has it’s perks after all. Kartok is a statistician, and he handles logistics and planning for troop movements, working closely with Zarra (see below). He is also Leilani’s partner in guiding diplomacy efforts and negotiating with allies. Zarra is the head of the active Coalition forces. She and Ortraz design the training routines for all Coalition soldiers, and she is the lead on all military action.Matt as a Commander has a clean slate to build on, but he his focus will primarily be to keep his role as head of the Communications Hub. He will be in charge of the “Strike” teams that have been mentioned a few times now, which will mainly focus infiltration and data extraction.

I've always pictured the coalition attire being the canon outfits the rebels wear in voltron. But what are the coalitions colors in your series?

Our Coalition colors are black, gold, and deep red. (Somewhere around here I’ve got the reasoning behind those, but uh… I’m neck deep in school prep so I’m not inclined to dig them up haha)edit from lo: The main reasoning is... I really like those colors and Em indulges me too much. She’s the best ever. shhh it’s a secret.
