Looked on NameMC for Arronax, so this might be her canon design?

I saw a tweet that also looked earlier, but that tweet was 5 hours ago and the account only had a default Minecraft skin at the time

So it might've been updated to provide a canon design!

Why else would she be hiding the book in the middle of the ocean?

Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Unnaturally Deep Ocean That Generates At 20000,20000

I'm not usually one to do fan theorizing, I mostly came out of this shipping Wifies, Hummer, and the Leviathan (sorry not sorry), BUT in googling around for Arronax to figure out if her name was a reference to something I realized, yes, obviously, duh, Aronnax (different spelling but bear with me) is the narrator of Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. I had thought about the book earlier because obviously it's an ocean adventure with a submarine, and then there's the 20000,20000 coordinates, and also, like any good Jules Verne novel the video was full of indulgent and showy displays of cool transportation technology and devoted gentleman adventuring companions who come across as kinda gay for each other to the modern reader. ANYWAY uh. Some relevant stuff, especially if you like a lot of us are side-eyeing whether Hummer is a real guy, whether maybe he's got more knowledge of the Leviathan than he's letting on, etc.:

Pierre Aronnax (Verne's narrator) is a marine biologist bent on catching this crazy sea monster that keeps sinking ships on ocean voyages!

He voyages out to sea, and, lo and behold, the sea monster sinks his ship!

Oh shit, the sea monster is a submarine! (It's called the Nautilus, btw.) He gets into the submarine, alongside his insanely devoted manservant and also the manliest man harpooner Canada has ever produced (see: adventuring companion yaoi) and finds out it is owned by his new host/kidnapper, Captain Nemo!

"Nemo," btw, is a nom de guerre. It means "nobody."

Captain Nemo fucking hates imperialism and wants to destroy it, which is why he built a submarine and why he is sinking ships. He is presented as sympathetic but unmistakably unhinged. Anyway, the rest of the book is them adventuring through the seas in the Nautilus (they go at least 20,000 leagues while underwater, it's a distance, not a depth).

Aronnax is in awe of Nemo, because, duh, the guy invented a submarine. For a while he is relatively okay with being imprisoned in a cool submarine, because the situation has many benefits for a marine biologist... but eventually he and the others do decide to escape the Nautilus.

Anyway, you should probably read the book. It is obviously not accurate to how the real ocean is but neither is the video.

Do with this what you will! I personally have theories but they haven't quite coalesced yet. I do think Hummer's not what he presents himself as, though.

Okay, just looked it up to make sure I was right. Arronax is, in 20000 Leagues Under The Sea, the name of the protagonist. This is so interesting in the context of The Search for the Leviathan. Why is TSFTL!Arronax not there? Is it implied her time is over, and this is happening after her protag status has ended? Is she gonna come back and we explore her story from the point of view of a side character (Wifies)? Is it simply a fun reference that doesn't mean anything? Losing my mind rn
