choices - olicity - @taylorswiftmicrofic - word count: 202
Oliver enjoyed looking out at the city, watching over. Like a guardian angel , he remembered saying to Barry once. He only realized how true it was today, when he didn't have the option. He had always been able to see the city lights after the island. From his office at QC, from the loft, and then in his office as mayor. His view is a concrete wall at Slabside.
He hadn't realized how much he'd taken advantage of the view when he'd had it. He looked at the picture he kept of Felicity and William. He had to be okay with the choices he'd made, he reminded himself. He'd made them for a reason.
He kept replaying it over in his head: getting handcuffed, the look of shock and confusion on his team's face, the look of betrayal on Felicity's when she realized what had happened.
And—
"What happens to William?"
"He has you."
"Well, what happens to me?"
He didn't know. He hadn't known then, either.
Felicity was strong; she could handle it. William and Felicity would be fine. Oliver would keep his head down and get released early. He would try his damn best.
The words sounded empty even to him.
