I interrupt everything to post this haha. This is very random but this is one of the small scenes between Kara and Lee that I find so stinking cute. I lowkey forgot about it until I re-watched the show for the second time and I had actually laughed out loud at it because I initially found it to be so dorky/cringey of Lee to do. And I'll still admit, it is, with yk the typical "after you" thing, but I definitely find it a lot more cute now especially with Kara's expression and smile. I was literally gushing over it as I made this gif the other night (an embarrassing amount- I'm okay I promise...) but just like everything about it ugh. It's such a small and mundane gesture but just gah, he's a gentleman ❤️❤️
The way Lee turns and looks directly at her, holding his gaze steady on her as he says it. The way he says it too almost like he's flirting. The way he doesn't care that the President and his father are literally right next to her. The way she meets his gaze for a moment and then smiles so excitedly yet softly like she just got a compliment from her crush (ofc half of that is also because they just found the Tomb of Athena but like come on you can't tell me that that smile was only because of that and Lee's gesture had nothing to do with it). Just ugh. This is such an underappreciated moment between them and it's so cute.
