First finished project of 2021, and my first foray into tablet weaving.
I began this months and months ago, and my makeshift tablets (modified playing cards) lost structural integrity about as quickly as youd expect. So I had intended to weave it a bit longer, but the long braided tail is nice too.
I made the mistake of weaving the weft through 1/4 of the threads instead of half so the pattern is dramatically different on the two sides. It looks very cool but l would also like to know what it should have been...
I seem to have an issue with tensioning the threads, they were all slightly different lengths, and the way I had rolled them up on my back strap loom meant they were a bit lopsided, so its like the left half of the belt is just a smidgen longer than the other.
I have also learn the valuable lesson: pin the tablets together somehow when you put the project down. If you do not, the cards can move. And flip. And twist. And spin.
It took me 30 minutes just to figure out where I was up to. 30 very sad minutes.
