Loki picked at his freshly-tailored suit. Why was Midgardian fashion so itchy?  It had been twenty minutes and he already longed for comforting heft of his helm. The suit in question was black, with a green undershirt and a gold tie - he felt like a pint-sized mob boss.

But wardrobe didn't matter at the moment; he was currently pretending to Kate Bishop's eighth-removed cousin at a gathering of some of America's richest and snobbiest. And aside from the clothes, he was having a grand time. He was in the midst of a story of how he actually met Thor once, no joke, when he finally caught sight of Kate in the crowd. It was almost like she was avoiding him. Imagine that.

He excused himself from his audience and picked his way through the crowd to the secret vigilante. "Hello, Kate! How do you fare? I've been having a wonderful time."
