Flashback (I’m gonna regret this but oH WELL)
“What did you do?” Came the sharp question, it had the young boy flinching just the slightest bit.
“I didn’t do anything. It was like that when I came in, ma’am…” Jack kept his head down, knowing better than looking up at the dark haired woman. It didn’t stop him from glaring at the floor.
Small hands clenched into fists when he heard her scoff, already knowing what was coming next because it almost always happened. Her foot tapped in annoyance, the tip of her shoe brushing against the broken shards of the broken glass of the window.
“Are you implying that one of my boys did this?” She asked in a disbelieving tone, breathing harshly through her nose. “They would never do this.”
“That’s because you always take their side even when they do something bad, which they always do–”
His head snapped to the right sharply, stumbling a little from the force of it. The sting immediately bloomed on his cheek along with a burning pain. He pressed his lips into a thin line, willing himself to not give the woman the satisfaction of seeing him cry.
“Go to your fucking room. I don’t want to see your face for the rest of the day, brat,” She growled with vitriol heavy in her voice, her lip curling in disgusting at the child.
Still not looking at her, Jack turned and quickly left to go to his room and didn’t look back.
