what happened with slade and the arrow writers in that gifset? I only watch arrow casually and have missed a lot of episodes

Oh boy, that was back from season 2, nonny. That was Manu Bennett cringing about how they made this character he was enjoying playing and cared about not just a villain but a grossly and inexplicably misogynistic one, citing as example the scripts he was handed where he’s got lines talking about punishing Oliver... through one woman... and then another... and then another woman... and threatening another one too... oh and that one also...

I remember vaguely some grumbling from him about the mirakuru turning Slade into a raging misogynist. He was not wrong, and that’s on the writers, not the fictional character, as Manu pointed out.

Are you watching season 4 of Arrow?

I am not! But if it continues to be better than S3 was, I might catch up once it’s done. For the moment I’m still too upset by everything S3 was to really enjoy it or trust them to do well.

They do seem to have fixed one of their three biggest mistakes of S3, though, so I probably will catch up if they don’t fuck up everything again. I mean, it’s not like I don’t still deeply love the characters… I just hate the shitty way the writers handled everything in season 3.
