♙:Sharing a bed
Daryl hadn’t been too keen when she’d spread her bedroll out to the full capacity. He knew what she’d been planning, and sure enough, she was giving him those eyes, the ones that reminded him of those summers long ago, and he was sliding down lower on the hardened dirt packed floor. He let out a soft hiss of breath. He was bone tired. “Abs?” When she turned her head to look at him, he gave her a half smile. “You sure this is alright? I don’t mind sleeping in the dirt.”It wouldn’t be the first time. Certainly wouldn’t be the last.
Then she patted the blanket beside her, and he relented and laid back, head in his hands that he crossed behind his head. He felt her smaller form shift and press into him. He wasn’t used to the touch, but it felt nice to just have her there.
The familiarity was special to him in a way he’d never be able to express to her with words. “Night, Abs.”
