Klutzy Coffee
Kat had grown accustom to the world of humans and their lack of attention. The frigged wind forced mortals all around her to shrink back into their heavy winter coats or jump into the various coffee shops littering the streets. Kat couldn’t help but snort as she tossed her bangs out of her eyes. She had endured much worse in her hunt for exciting new prey. Still, the warm beverages the humans marketed in their time of ‘duress’ were more appealing than she had expected. Kat prefered to drink tea, however she decided today would be a decent day to try their coffee.
Taking a sip she scanned the street, trying to find any decent glamour or emotion pouring out of the scurrying mortals. There was a man standing just a few shops away from her, dark brown hair occasionally lifting in the wind.
Kat unconsciously began to move her feet in his direction; as she often did when examining new ‘things’. A large truck’s horn blared beside her, startling the cat-fey. Her head whipped to the street and her left foot caught on a dip in the sidewalk, sending her shoulder-first into something and successfully knocking her coffee from her hand.
“Shit! I’m sorry.”
