Attempted to make @wolfertinger666 fursona Salem as practice before the art I gotta do for my boardgame
Wholesome father-son memory.
My mom told me a funny story about her and her dad, and gave me permission to steal it.
HOW DO YOU DRAW 3/4 BODIES. FUCK.
pose practice ft. marinette
Art is not arting but I guess these are not that bad?
DON'T ASK ME WHAT LIGHT IS I HAVE NO IDEA
People who know how light in art works scare me. I always just do whatever and hope it works out.
[image description: two pictures of various doodles of hornet, with a few unrelated sketches in the first (one of orchid, sitting with their knees drawn to their chest in front of a delicate flower, one of bretta with a nail, and one of the pure nail). in the first picture on the left is a sketch of hornet in one of the promotional art pieces for silksong, with her cloak billowing around her. her body underneath the cloak is also sketched out. next to it is a cloak-less sketch of hornet, and to the right of it is a sketch of her needle. between these sketches are various proportion measurements and markers to make judging distance and length easier, one of which is marked ‘cloak length.’ there are a few other doodles of hornet, both with and without her body.
in the second image is one singular drawing of hornet, inspired by the pose she does when you first run into her in greenpath. her needle is pointed at someone, and she is standing so that her left side is closer to the camera than her right. an arrow pointing to the needle marks it as ‘perspective is off on this,’ and text next to her cloak says ‘how cloak?’ a small ‘nice’ is next to her horns.

hornet art studies ? maybe? i saw the silksong promo art and got sucked into sketching her skjhgkjs
im trying to figure out a way to make drawing her and the vessels easier, but honestly i am. kind of approaching this from the wrong direction? or maybe not, theres not really a ‘wrong direction’ with art and learning how to make art, but i feel like i could be approaching this from a better angle. breaking hornet’s body down into shapes did help a little, so i might try doing that more often. perspective is still jank though
