Evaluation of the Resubmission Module

As a resubmission module, I took it seriously, from the notes to my finished products were referenced to the requirements of the brief. I am very grateful to the teacher for giving me the chance to show myself again.

What I am doing with this module is to transform some waste debris. I made one scene pattern collage series, and one “show bag” . I chose both as a display of my finished product because they represent the ability to make handwork and the ability to use electronic software.

I conducted various aspects of research, such as zero waste, DIY of IKEA package bag, and two outstanding artists：David Mach and Claes Oldenburg, and so on. At the same time, I also explored pop art, and my collage also tried to move closer to pop art. I also took the names of each of them. They are respectively “up and down,cheese” “Half of the scour” “butterflies or hair accessories?” “dumbbells garden”.

Through this module, I learned to enjoy sharing my thoughts with friends, to realize the design inspiration should come from everywhere around things, I usually need to pay more attention to detail, taste dull life, but also to try to give the old things of life, so that our life will be full of infinite possibilities. Learn to enjoy the freshness of the challenge while not afraid of the challenge.

Talk about my another final product－“show bag”, to be honest， I'm not particularly satisfied with its final quality. I feel it's a bit rough, but I'm glad to see it using so many different materials. Secondly, it is more practical and functional than the manual work in the previous module. I still feel a bit better about that.

I have to mention some of my shortcomings, first of all, the exchange of ability to exercise, I think it still needs to strengthen, although already more than before dare to speak, but the communication between teachers is still not enough. Second, personal time management skills, I admit that I have problems in this area, I always try to do everything best, but I neglect that only a little bit of accumulation will be a qualitative upgrade. In addition, after visiting some graduation exhibition, I found that a designer has a clear style of works is a very important thing, only in this way, you can focus more on one area study, you work in the final presentation will be unified and orderly. So I think that's what I need to focus on over the next school year - setting up a clear personal style. Finally, I really love the art & design profession, because it is very flexible, you can do all the things you are interested in the interdisciplinary environment, whether in painting, sculpture, textile and so on. Also differently exhibitions are very attractive to me, I enjoy watching the exhibition with friends then we like exchange the same works of different ideas.

In a word, I enjoy all the experiences I've studied here. Thank you for your patience and help. And I'm looking forward to more change and progress.

Because I usually like all kinds of shoes, then I have the opportunity to get into touch with these messages, it is also a very fashionable move, people will be converted into a mask of sneakers. In my opinion, this is a bold and novel attempt. I hope I can make my own mask in the future.

My Final Work Part 1 － Scene pattern collage series

In order to consolidate the previous study, this time as a series of my finished product, I use the traditional digital software, let my daily photography works with the initial light and shadow photos (door handle projection + shower head projection) ，show the colorful collage display.

Artist Research - Claes Oldenburg

Claes Oldenburg, he is so easy to be able to put an ordinary life into art. Odenberg’s work is not only easy to understand, easy to close, but also the only wave of art in the world to pass down the public works of art. Odenberg makes people realize that “art is a happy thing.” he is perhaps the most radical and creative of the pop artists. After a period of experience in the use of graffiti-like combination of waste materials in the practice of art, in 1976, he began to carry out the creation of concrete art, talking about his work, Oldenburg said: “I use the simple Imitation, which is not due to my lack of imagination, nor is it because I want to talk about everyday life. I imitate: one, ordinary items; two, to create out of the items, such as symbols, which do not engage in artistic intentions, and I have also tried to develop these things through my own pristine simplicity, which is to enrich their strength and deal with them carefully. I do not want to make them into art. It must be made clear that I am imitating these things for a purpose of reason because I want people to be accustomed to the power of ordinary objects.

Research－Zero Waste

After my friend's suggestion, I searched online for pictures of zero waste, such as this way of reuse , which can actually be inspired to my works on this module.

It also made me aware of the importance of communicating ideas and opinions, and each person's different suggestions brought me new discoveries in the new field, and I enjoyed the sharing of resources more and more.
