Sister

The above drawing was made during Chinese New Year, I tried to draw a pose that was based on the pose I made(it looks terrible xd).

The above chinese characters are 恭喜发财 (Gōngxǐ fācái). People say this to wish people prosperity in the new year.

Anyways, today post is not about me, it's about my sister

A few days ago, my sister J was invited to her classmate's house for a group project.

At first, J did not feel like going because they are not close at all(no similar topics) and J is known as the weird one at school(don't really talk much, the quiet one).

J did go in the end and man, it was great!

Even though J was worn out after coming back(social interactions are hard for J lmao) but the whole experience was pretty wholesome.

The friend knows that J's the quiet one and took extra care of J. She prepared biscuits and ordered boba teas. Hell, J even overheard her saying: "she can be very shy so we need to treat her good good."

I don't have the slightest idea of why I drew this(was i inspired by tree bark texture, face expressions? idk).

I'll just go with what's happening in my life now.

I'm in a youth organisation called AIESEC.

When I was still a fresh member, everything was pretty chill. I was recruited into a department called Incoming Global Talent(iGTa). It focuses on assisting talents/applicants from other countries to get a job in Malaysia(the offered field was mainly Marketing).

Just like everything good/chill, it always has an end. My boss ended his term 2 months ago and I was realocated to another department called Incoming Global Volunteer(iGV). I went for the director role and I got it(tho it took me 3 times).

Basically what iGV does is we provide opportunities for youths to develop their leadership by joining our volunteering project. The one that I'm handling is Clean Our Plate(COP), it focuses on tackling the food waste issues that is happening in our world.

I have to juggle between my academic and AIESEC(many meetings).

been getting back into Sunset Rollercoaster again, their "Candlelight" is the bomb.

Birthday

It was my birthday yesterday! (18th April)

I feel the same.

8am classes are still killing me. I still procastinate(eg: this art blog haha), which is one thing that i really want to improve on(time management).

aku dan suatu masa: me and once upon a time(tho the real translation is me and a particular time, i think once upon a time sounds way cooler)

it was written by a cashier back at the dim sum place that I used to work at, he has many many cats. I don't know where is he now.

the face in the second drawing was inspired by Initial D(main character), pretty cool.

Cicak

Me and my friends that were working at the dim sum place would always walk around the mall during our rest time, and one of the place would be the library(it was the only mall that has library in it and i thought it was pretty cool, it is now a kitchen showroom).

The drawing i made here was based on my friend, Ryan. But all of us call him cicak. I don't remember how he got the nickname xd

“Cicak” or Geckos are small lizards belonging to the infraorder Gekkota, found in warm climates throughout the world. They range from 1.6 to 60 cm. Geckos are unique among lizards for their vocalizations, which differ from species to species.

Hands

Slowly but surely, I was starting to get back into drawing.

I was very fascinated by the style of SinixDesign(on Youtube). He has a soft voice and the art videos made by him are very chill to draw along.

The hand on the first picture on the bottom right is heavily influenced by him(pointy fingers, distinct silhouette)!!

Good stuff.

Identity

I was going to get this one out after the first one but I got high instead. I tried to write this out while I'm high but I couldn't do it

ok, enough rambling, let's get into it.

This drawing gives me the "bedroom music" vibe. (soft boys, kind spirits, generic beats)

I remember wanting to get better at art but at the same time being lazy to learn and improve.

This left me at a crossroads.

And so, I drew and I had fun.

Fun, I like this word. I like fun.
