An eternal mood.
The Merge
"Diese verdammten Pferde... We underestimated their doctrine and their aircraft. They favored larger, heavier fighters; their main jet was a brute of a machine that left little to grace and elegance. Yet they stuck to our tails like glue, harried our formations - a strike package was useless when we're forced to jettison [our stores] early. BVR was certainly a thing, but their countermeasures worked as least as frequently as ours did, and a talon-fight was a coin-toss on who gets to go home to a hero's welcome, and who comes home in a box." -- Hpvg. Marcellus "Grinder" Gründer, on engaging Equestrian Air Force aircraft in close range, 1003 ====================================== Another scene inspired by the work of @guard-mod, particularly of the air war that was happening between during Pony-Griffon War of the early 1000s.
"Love me a little less, why don't ya?"
What started off as a quick sketch exercise that became a reimagining of the last panel of this post from my good friend @kiwiplur's ask blog, @sundown-trotten.
L'Aviateur For Kahas
En Garde!
Over Hippogryphia (ca. 1007)
An Equestrian Air Force Epeé multirole fighter refuels amid combat air patrols to reinforce the Hippogryph front amidst the ongoing Pony-Gryphon conflict. With the air war attriting many of the EQAF's multirole fighters, aircraft such as the Epeé - a continuing update of C.207 Dagger (which lost in the EQAF's Lightweight Fighter Program before being sold to allies through the export market) - have been purchased from the military-industrial base outright to replenish ranks.
The Epeé boasts upgraded avionics, low-observability features, an uprated engine and conformal fuel tanks to extend range.
“But Lyra, that kills people!”
