Black Yvonne Clarinval's 1923 textile collection on 4 elements of the earth is sublime. This one titled 'Le Terra' is a stunning visual of tropical shrubs and tortoise in an organic mix of brown, teal, aqua and ochre. When I was a Textile Design student, we were so engrossed in learning techniques then, it is only now, that I can truly appreciate the composition and palette of this silk art.
