Multiversal Shennanigans

I've traveled through the multiverse a lot. Sometimes willingly, other times not, but either way I've been some pretty cool places.

Found my brother in a branch where the X-men lived through the extinction (only cannon to mod's au, long story), met Miguel O'Hara and the spider society. He did not like me. At all. The TVA was pretty cool too.

Now I kinda just float around. Can't ever stay for too long though- always have to go back to my universe for at least a little. Or my dimension. Or else I die.

My dimension though, mostly something I keep to myself, since taking anyone else there could kill them. Really quickly. Well my powers in general i kept to myself since how many people would either mother hen me or try to kill me for my powers? A lot. The answer was a lot.

I would never hear the end of it.

And I wouldn't, because as I stepped out of the tear in space I was met with the door to the training room swinging open just before I could close the tear.

'Shit. Play dumb..'

"Finally got out of there. Villians, jeez, you threaten to kill em once and they pull you into a place beyond time and reality."

At least i was somewhat convincing. Couldn't let someone find out i was going through the multiverse again. The TVA would be pissed with me.

Yelena: Those two are about as functional as us. Checks out.

Artemis hesitated before knocking on the door to Antonia's room. She had spoken with her before- seen the similarities, not just with the brainwashed shit but also personalities in a way? She wasn't exactly sure. But Artemis thought it was by time she at least got to know Antonia and her other teammates better. Did she know how exactly she'd do that? No. She'd try though.

Artemis knocked again- maybe she was asleep? She might just come back later. Artemis turned to leave. Maybe this had been a bad idea.

When Antonia heard a knock on the door, she panicked and grabbed her mask. She was very aware that a hoodie and her mask was an odd combination but she was not in the mood to be seen. She rarely was, now that she thought about it. She should probably work on that. That was a problem for later. She blinked a few times to pull herself back to reality and then opened the door.

"Hello."

I have that one song in my head that's like "I don't like them putting chemicals in the water cause it turns the freaking frogs gay" and I can't stop imagining it as john walker. Just. Him saying this at a press thing and then someone *cough* ava, yelena or artemis, or anyone else that knows tech *cough* editing him into the song

He's not even trying to be mean, this was just his first thought.

He pauses as if just now realizing what he said.

"... That would be fine. I'd be a worm so I wouldn't care."

shepard goes to him after every mission. it's become a routine at this point, a pointed-out part of her smoothed-down schedule that she can never miss. before recruiting thane, they may have wandered up to their quarters for a time, locked away within the mechanized door, and found solace in the peace and hum of the normandy around them. instead, she goes to life support. she seeks him out. their chats are always heavy with memories (on thane's part, that is — artemis has never been one for reminiscing) and add peaceful, much-needed time to their stressful, mission-heavy days. it's relaxing to talk to him. it's comforting. his gaze is far unlike hers, and yet the commander sees so much of themselves in his expressions, in his speech.

today is no different. shepard dries themselves off as best they can after a rather rainy foray into the jungle, then marches up to life support and locks the door behind them. by the time artemis turns around, thane is already standing there beside her. "hi." informal, and so, so unlike her. swallowing hard, they nod, cross the room to the table, and take a seat at their normal place across from thane's usual seat. when he joins them, artemis offers the drell a small smile. "it was rainy," she observes brilliantly. "so it's... nice to sit with you today. nice and warm in here. humid." perfect for a dying drell. they swallow again. "how are you feeling?"
