WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME he's indulged in something so... mundane? in truth, the beach was never really his thing, but of late, he’s felt particularly drawn to the little things; the kinder parts of living, where the ghosts can’t find him. at least... not at first. the longer he steeps in the sound of crashing waves, the chill of fall’s wind nipping at his cheeks, the closer they get, the louder their voices become. he should know better than to try and drown them out, but the reprieve was nice while it lasted.
with the added weight of minako’s tears and aki’s disappointment on his mind, shinjiro finds no will to move, standing still upon the shore. the tide barely reaches the toes of his boots, he notes idly with a glance, before it recedes back into the sea. he’d like to feel it, just once, but maybe one day, when he’s finished here.
