dear victoria,

i apologise for the brevity of this letter. it will have to be brief as i am preparing to leave as we speak. i do not even know if this letter will reach you, but i had to try. my family is taking an extended holiday to my great-aunt’s in the countryside. i can’t help but think this is due to the recent discovery of the company i have been keeping. i will try to write you if it is possible, but it may be forbidden. however, if it is all possible, i will write.
