I can’t believe it’s been a week since #artfestkingston. I’ve been quietly recovering for the past few days, moving into a new, albeit slower motivation (slowtivation? Can this be a word?) now that the beast of a show is over. Dehydration from last weekend has been a thing to deal with, and I’ve been overly tired all week. Today @uncouthrooth and I have a day to flee the heat of the city and do our work at the beach park and I’m busy taking advantage of beautiful light to get a bunch of my new pieces photographed. It’s been a slowly productive day. What else can I say? Thank you Kingston for making my first appearance at #artfestkingston an absolutely awesome time! The public’s support of this show is truly inspiring (and who do I thank for that amazing weather we were treated to all weekend!?) 🙌 The show organization was tops, and I connected with so many new friends and felt so supported by my dear ones who came out to support me and the show. A million thanks to @bibliotechnic and @irritantcreative for their lovely hospitality (and generous quantities of nightly post-show beer), to @boyersmichelle and her beloved crew for the sweet hangs, and to my extraordinary @sheilawinterwallace for her endless help and thoughtful care. ❤️ I would never have made it to or through this experience without @uncouthrooth cheering me on - thank you, my love. ❤️ It was my first ever 3 day, away show and I’m utterly exhausted and almost voice-less, but I’m also elated - I’ll definitely be back next year, if not before! 😉 Thank you Kingston, you are beautiful. It’s 4 sleeps until #artfestkingston and today was my last true day at the bench, finishing up the last of my pieces. I have been hustling so hard for the past 3 months, and I’m feeling proud of what I’ve accomplished. I have almost tripled my inventory, developed new lines and redesigned and rebuilt my studio in that time, while juggling rather involved freelance jobs and 25 hrs a week at a part time job. I am more than a little tired. My hands are more than a little sore. But I’m also more than a little happy, and beyond excited for this show. So I’ve been a little less active on social lately, partially because I needed a bit of a break from it, but mostly because I’ve been chained to my bench, making like a madwoman, in preparation for #artfestkingston!
