Crunchyroll and chill?
As far as friends at college went, Damara didn’t have many. Or any, really. She didn’t really want friends, but she had to admit, after a year and a half of it the loneliness was starting to set in. So she reached out. More specifically, she’d reached out to a girl in her anime club who looked like she might be at least tolerable to be around. Before now, Damara had never invited anyone to her dorm room to hang out. Sure, she’d had study partners over, people she was working with on projects, the mute guy from chemistry class... But never once had she invited someone over to just chill. Was she nervous? Absolutely. Would she let any of that show through? Not at all. Once the TV in her room was set up to stream crunchyroll videos, she walked into the living room, hands behind her back. Currently, her roommate wasn’t home -- probably in class, or at one of her inferior academic clubs -- so she had free reign to pace the living room as she saw fit. At least it was helping her work out some of her anxiety. Having almost forgotten, Damara jumped when she realized she needed to get the snacks out of the fridge. She’d stocked up on Pocky, Yan-Yan and whatever other sugar-sweet nonsense the Asian grocery store carried on its shelves. She grabbed the bag and tossed it into her room just in time to hear the doorbell ring. She took a deep breath before putting on her prettiest, most friendly smile and opening the door. “こんにちは。Welcome. Dorm is mess. Apologize. Come in, have snacks!” Damara gave her best effort to appear cheerful and bright and bubbly, like this girl seemed to have no problem doing, but at least she was remembering her manners.
