Music taste: He's a big fan of gothic music, such as Evanescence, Deftones, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, and The Sisters of Mercy. He's also a fan of classical music. (His dramatic ass loves Lacrimosa.) The ONLY reason he's been getting more into punk and alternative music is because of his best friend, Mira Walsh.
Favorite Literature: Frankenstein by Mary Shelley is his absolute favorite. he also enjoys reading, poetry like Edgar Allan Poe, anything by Oscar Wilde, The Handmaid's Tale, Franz Kafka, Fahrenheit 451, Judith Butler, anything by Junji Ito, etc. Sexuality: Gay or Androsexual 🏳️🌈⚣ Hobbies: You’ll usually see him at a cafe with his favorite horror book or sketching in one of his many sketchbooks. He enjoys doing candid drawings of strangers at cafes or getting lost in a book. Personality: Arthur is an ambivert. He can enjoy socializing with others in bursts but prefers to be alone with his art or books. Mira pushes him to get out and live a little bit. He is secretive about his family ties to the CCG. He is a pacifist (he avoids causing harm to pretty much anyone, if he can avoid it.) He strongly believes that violence leads to more violence. While being a pacifist he still believes in self-defense. He rarely if ever holds grudges. He’s Impulsive to act when he thinks someone is in danger. He is a little bit cowardly when it comes to his own life.(at first) He’s a bit spoiled because of his rich upbringing but he doesn’t see himself above anyone. He’s also stubborn in his beliefs. Arthur isn't open about being a Transman. He is very much closeted about his sexuality and transition. He doesn't need to bind because he got his chest surgery before he headed to Japan with Mira.

His mother remarried to Benjamin Willaims, an investigator under the American version of the CCG, The Department of Ghoul Defense. His mother died when he was 12, leaving him with his stepfather who got more invested in his work due to Arthur’s mother dying from a ghoul attack. The ghoul who was framed for the murder was eventually killed, and his wife was arrested for harboring a ghoul under her care. The ghoul who supposedly killed his mother had two offspring: Mira and Milo Walsh, two natural born half-ghouls who initially befriended Arthur out of petty revenge, though the former of the two grew to have an actual friendship with him while the other kept his resentment at the forefront of their interactions. It was thanks to his friend Mira that Arthur was able to find other options for himself, and to aid him with a surgery before making further plans for the future. While distant with his stepfather, Arthur decided to leave the country to pursue his life goals, taking his best friend Mira with him as the two settled into Japan to start a new life together. Arthur has no idea that Mira and Milo are half ghouls.
Arthur's gun is a black 44 magnum that has 6 rounds. The gun uses Q bullets. Arthur only uses this gun as his last and finally option. Here is a 3d model reference of a magnum gun if you need it.
Arthur prefers to have his hair tied up in a bun. He only lets his hair down at home alone, when he's with someone he absolutely trusts or when he's getting his hair trimmed.
Relationships: I'm mostly sticking with the people Arthur is mostly around in the first part of his story to simplify things.
Mira Walsh: Arthur met Mira and Milo at the age of 12, not long after he lost his mother. Unaware that the two were plotting their revenge for what his stepfather was involved with (the death of the twin’s father as well as the imprisonment of their mother), he befriended the two. Out of the two, Arthur is closer to Mira because they eventually understood the situation for being as complicated as it was, thus losing their will for revenge against him and his family. It was thanks to Mira’s connection to Howard, a lovable figurehead of their local community and a doctor, that Arthur was able to get an important surgery. After he recovered, he and Mira went and traveled to live in Japan. The two are roommates at the beginning of Tokyo Ghoul. Milo Walsh: Meeting both the twins at the same time, while it was oblivious to Arthur in the beginning, Milo held a lot more hostility towards Arthur. Mira tried dismissing it as other issues and Arthur believed in the explanations to give Milo room to figure himself out, but Arthur truly did want to connect with Milo. Milo’s and Arthur’s relationship looked like that type of friendship where one person is mean to the other but seemed like they still care. This was because Mira had asked Milo to act cordial, which he begrudgingly did. As of the beginning of Tokyo Ghoul, Milo is out to finally do something about Arthur. Ken Kaneki: Arthur saw Ken at Anteiku while he was waiting for Mira one day (this is when they both were still strangers) Arthur drew him, admiring his beauty but didn't speak to him out of shyness. Arthur was also drawing other strangers he saw at Anteiku as well to brush up on his drawing skills and to pass the time.) They both take a lot of the same college courses since they share the same major, however Hide was the one that noticed Arthur first and he ends up later introducing him to Ken. (in his own very Hide way.) because in his own words “both of them are always alone and have their noses in a book.” Plus Hide thinks that Ken should make more friends, since he’s always by himself, reading.
Arthur and Ken hit it off really well. They both enjoy sharing their love for literature and talking about their favorite authors. They both take each other's book recommendations and share classroom notes. (This is all before Kaneki becomes a ghoul) While Ken is in the hospital, Arthur sends him texts to check in on him and even gives him flowers as a gift to feel better. (After Ken’s is released from the hospital and is now an Artificial ghoul) Arthur invites Ken to go book shopping with him and at first Ken declines his offer (because he’s going through a LOT at the moment.) after a bit Ken agrees to go to the bookstore with Arthur and Arthur gets him some new books as a little celebratory gift.
When Ken feels like he needs to get stronger, he later learns through Hide that Arthur is trying to do a martial arts club at the college; however Arthur hasn’t been very successful with getting people to join. (mostly because Arthur was very awkward about it.) Ken later joins Arthur’s martial arts club. (mostly due to Hide persuading him and needing to learn how to defend himself.) During a sparring match between Ken and Arthur, Ken starts to notice that he might find him attractive. All the while Arthur is kicking his ass in this spare match.
Later when Ken gets kidnapped by Yakumo Oomori aka Jason and goes “missing”(This is also around the time Arthur realizes that he might really like Ken and he wants to tell him his feelings.) Arthur tries to think of ways he could help find him and Arthur tries to do so by using his family's connections to the CCG. After some time Arthur is looking for Ken in a location he was last seen. He encounters a ghoul that attacks him. Arthur flees and runs into the ghoul named Eyepatch.
Eyepatch (Kaneki) notices Arthur is injured and is with a gun. Ken tries not to scare him but fails and scares him anyway but it works out in the end anyway because Eyepatch intimidates Arthur to follow him to safety. (I’m gonna stop here because I plan on sharing more of they’re story on Ariso’s and mine project.)
Hideyoshi Nagachika: Arthur, without paying much attention, walks into Hide while being on campus. Hide notices that Arthur was reading while he walked into him and realizes that Arthur is kinda an awkward guy like his best friend Kaneki Ken, so he introduces them. While Kaneki is hospitalized Hide jokily asks Arthur “What would you do if someone you cared about was actually a ghoul?” Hide, Kaneki and Arthur all have Japanese history class together. Hide enjoys sharing music with Arthur and Kaneki. Arthur later introduces Hide and Kaneki to his best friend Mira Walsh. Hide flirts with Mira calling them a babe. “Hey Arthur what are you doing finding this babe from us?”
Later Hide learns about his best friend Kaneki being a half ghoul when Nishio Nishiki attacks them and they are later brought to Anteiku. For quite some time Hide is suspicious and cautious around Arthur when Arthur joins the CCG to find their missing friend Kaneki. Hide tries to give Arthur false information and tries to discourage him (discouraging Arthur in a very aloof way.)
Touka Kirishima: At first Arthur doesn’t think about Touka much. He just thinks she is some nice barista at Anteiku. Later when he spends more time there he starts to realize Mira's interest in her. As Mira is always asking for HER coffee and HER attention. (Not as flirty as Hide but there were signs.) He after a while notices Mira and Touka spending more time together outside of Anteiku. Touka isn’t super fond of Arthur but doesn’t show it because she doesn’t want him to be suspicious of her being a ghoul. So she keeps him at a distance.
Shuu Tsukiyama: Arthur is uncomfortable around Shuu. Shuu’s behavior around Arthur gives him red flags but he can’t prove it beyond just gut instincts.

Ships I'm okay with: Ken Kaneki X Arthur Finch (probably the one I'm the most for and makes the most sense with his character) Hideyoshi Nagachika X Arthur Finch (I'm curious to see what people might do with this ship)
❌ DON’TS ❌ Things I’m NOT okay with: Please don't put Arthur in any dresses or label him as a woman. So NO she/her pronouns for him. Please don't make Arthur a ghoul or Half Ghoul. (including an Artificial one) It just doesn't really work with his story at all and I'd prefer to see him as a sympathetic human that learns to understand the ghoul world. Ships I'm not okay with: Anyone that identifies being a woman. Shuu Tsukiyama (only because I can't see them in any AU being loveydovey to each other.) Milo Walsh x Arthur Finch (Milo CANNOT stand the guy.)
