Out of all the celebrations and holidays that the small, peaceful country town had to offer, Ultear's favorite was perhaps the annual beer festival. The beer festival, in fact, might have been the only fair Ultear enjoyed, for the rest seemed to be somewhat childish and naive; things set aside for the common folk that she would not humble herself to be apart of. But when it came to drinking, Ultear was all for mass drinking. Even around those she would consider under her, she felt a certain amusement from the camaraderie that alcohol created.
Perhaps it was the momentary camaraderie that made the normally judgmental, sly woman into a friendlier state. The alcohol put her into an even more confident state, all the while relaxing her and allowing her to tolerate the company of others she did not know. It was maybe best that she had gone to the fair alone, otherwise her companions might not have understood why she was enjoying herself so.
Moving along crowded booths and groups of fair goers, Ultear had made it a point to not over dress as was known of her to do. A simple sundress in matching wedgies, dark, ebony locks spilling down her back. It was so odd to find herself in such a setting, as Ultear was used to the sophisticated life of the upper class and all the finer things it offered that she was torn between scorning the atmosphere and appreciating it.
Her attentions, however, soon were caught by a man yelling out from a booth not too far away, her attention caught just enough for her to forget about what would be accepted by her collages or not.
"Step right up and attempt to take on other teams in our quiz game in order to win a free keg! Sign up is completely free, and you must have a partner to compete. The winning team gets a whole keg to take home-…"
If it had been any other circumstance, the business woman would have simply kept walking. However, Ul loved to win, and she loved attention. She saw no harm in a little game, and as liquid courage started to pump through her veins she felt the need to win.
There was the obstacle of finding a partner when she had none. Her eyes scanned the area around her, searching for some poor soul she would pull along with her to win the suddenly most desired prize. Spotting a man with blond hair, she was more then certain he was alone by the way he carried himself, looking distant from others as he slowly moved around them. From his appearance, Ultear could tell very little other then he dressed nicely. He might have been the only chance she had of finding a willing partner to compete with.
♚ "You seem to be all alone, my dear." She said as she approached him, giving a charming smile that was half genuine as it was practiced.
♚ "And I am rather interested in winning that keg. Unless you have something better to do, I think you and I would certainly win that keg. Nothing to lose, really. Oh, how silly of me, you can call me Ultear."
