Do you think energy healers should learn how to work with different energetic alignments than their own/ do you think its even possible? Im reading a lot of posts about healings that fucked shit up when the healer was using energy that didnt jive w the dude being healed, but not seeing a ton of stuff on how to avoid this from a healer's perspective.
2/2: [an addition to my previous ask, bc i looked through the faq again and wanted to clarify] For instance, if someone is more “light aligned” and doesnt work with, say, void energy, should they try to learn how to work with it despite it not coming naturally to them, or should they just refer the person asking for a healing to someone who does work w void energy?
First of all, TY FOR ASKIN A QUESTION THAT’S NOT A FAQ QUESTION!! Nya’ll need to be more like this person and ask me questions based on my posts lol, I’m actually quite happy to answer questions! Just not fucking. FAQ questions.
To answer your question, I would say it’s a matter of determination (or lack thereof) on the healer’s part, and opinion. There’s both pros and cons of having trying to learn and master two diametric energies.
Note: By “diametric” I mean energies that will naturally harm one another. This means even without harmful intent, heck, even with healing intent, they will damage one another.
Pro: More options to heal with. Self explanatory.
Con: There’s literally hundreds of elements, and then thousands of variants on those elements. Say you master reiki and void, good on you! However, the person your healing is harmed by both. Well, it turns out that there’s way more than reiki and void in the world, thousands of elements more. There’s no way to master everything, unfortunately.
Con: There’s only so much room in your energy body (as a whole) for more channels. While the energy in your systems can layer and layer and layer, there is only so much room. The more elements you attempt to “master”, the less specialized you can become in them (more detailed explanation in next con).
Con: More elements means more energy channel upkeep. You don’t get super awesome with, for example, void energy, then put it down for several years and pick right back up where you left off. While yes, one channel can serve multiple functions, each energy “flows” differently and thus requires differing pathways, valves, and other methods of direction built into your energy system to be used effectively. The more similar energies are to one another (example: fire and sun energy) the less variance in those valves/pathways/etc that your system will need to direct them effectively. As the term implies, diametric energies often “flow” completely different from one another; therefore you’ll need to have two entirely unique builds to use them effectively.
Potential Con: Time spent being okay at two elements could’ve been spent being a master at one. Self explanatory but relates to the above point.
Con: Mastering diametric elements will hurt. What happens with “opposing” energies such as reiki and void is that they naturally harm one another. This is why it hurt like a bitch for me to get a reiki attunement, as described in this post (I am void-aligned). When I got my reiki attunement it “fought” with my void energy, which caused excruciating amounts of astral pain. It basically fucked up my entire energy system for several months until I saw an advanced healer who was able to untangle them ( @crystalwitch-in-the-tardis ). It was not until this untangling and the channels developed ways to prevent contamination with each other that the pain stopped. This potential for really fucking yourself up is one of the main reasons to not learn another diametric energy.
Con: Mastering a diametric energy will take time.
Potential Pro: Learning experience. By going through the pain, you could learn more about why and how those two energies harm one another, and a lot about energy systems/bodies in general.
I tried to be even, however the cons do outweigh the pros. Just because two elements are diametric to each other does not make a healing more effective.
Referring to your question, to avoid that “oh no what if my client doesn’t jive well with my healing energy”, that’s why it’s best to ask them in the first place what energies they do/don’t work well with. If they don’t know, it’s a matter of testing but do be wary. If they know your energy would hurt them, unless you are very experienced in controlling energy contamination, and gaining and directing energy from an outside source, it would likely be better to refer them to someone who is experienced in that energy.
Note how I did not say “experienced in energy healing”. I said controlling energy contamination and gaining/directing energy from an outside source. It doesn’t matter how good you are at healing with your energy; those skills are what will determine whether you can or should attempt at healing someone with an opposing energy.
There’s also a possibility that the client’s energy type could hurt you, so be aware of that as well.
IF you do want to make the attempt however, do inform your client. It could be an excellent learning session for both of you, even if it doesn’t work out, so long as you keep communication open.
So to summarize, it’s a matter of not only determination and opinion, but also skill. I know this was super long so if you need any clarification, let me know!
