Bonjour from Montreal!
Sorry I haven`t posted yet, everyone, I was having a little bit of difficulty finding a public use computer. Finally with thehelp of my genius aunt, we<re currently at the Nationale Bibliotheque in Montreal.
I arrived here in a day, which according to everyone is incredible timing. From Cambridge, I got a ride from a pleasant, however quiet arab family, who drove me to Milton, Ontario. From there, I got picked up by stuntman Chad, a fellow longboarder that told me about a new show that abc is launching that he`s currently headed over to go `die`in. From etobicoke, I was picked up by Mike from Belleville, who was currently on his way home to see his son. I stopped in Belleville (the land of the steel-toed boots) for the night, where I stayed at a tim hortons. I befriended a night shift guy there named Cody, where we just generally chatted all night, and in the morning, I made off with a free coffee and breakfast sandwich. Thank God Im eating pork again!
From belleville,I got a ride to Kingston. Kingston was the first place where I was genuinely concerned that I had bitten off more than I could chew. After waiting over an hour for a ride, I got picked up by a gentleman on his way to Ottawa, who was more than willing to share business tips, should I want to work with textiles and clothing print. After a series of short rides from Denise the Quilting Lady and her dog Mocha, Mitch the dairy queen fill in, and the most cynical asian man named liang i`ve ever met (who got pulled over for speeding when we got into Quebec), I luckily was dropped off only blocks away from my aunts house.
For the past few days, ive just been hanging out in Montreal with my aunt. she works at this really awesome Irish pub called McKibbins, which has fantastic burgers. Everyone there has been nothing but nice to me, and I got a lot of walking time in. Ive seen the Mcgill campus (as well as the old Ravenscrag mansion, which has since been turned into a hospital for Mcgill), as well as walked st denis street (where I was cursed out for my terrible high-school grade french), today my aunt took me to two of the most beautiful churches I`ve ever seen, as well as showed me through old montreal. Tomorrow, Im headed to Ottawa by train, where Im making my way to Manitoba to see Gramps. So far, the trip has been great, and it`s really been teaching me the art of listening, rather than talking so bloody much.
Anyway, I miss you guys, and Ill try to post again as soon as possible. I cant wait for mono-lingual keyboards again.. this french one is blowing my mind. haha Here`s to wishing all is well, and all the rest can go to hell,
