Hopefully my new cat?! I'd seen him since Friday roaming around my apartment complex, I asked around to see if he belonged to anyone but no one had any idea. He's too nice to be feral so either he is lost or was abandoned. I was hopeful he found his way home when I didn't see him for a few days but this afternoon I saw him about and called him over. Little dude just loved to be pet and purred, letting me pick him up and put him in my car. He was so chill in the car unlike most cats, at one point just decided to sit in my lap as we drove to the animal shelter. No microchip. Passed all the behaviour questions they asked me. Never hissed, scratched or bit at me. No sign of fleas. I am the first in line for adoption if no one claims him by the end of the week. Some friends said I should have just kept him but I don't want to unintentionally steal someone's lost pet without giving them a chance to get him back. I hope I took all the right steps. I'll be a bit sad if his owner's come for him but I'll be happy he's finally home. On his paperwork, his official name that he is listed under courtesy of me is... Cow.
