Oleksyi Zaitsev

Earth Earth or soil as an artistic ethno motive reflected in mythology and rituals and contains knowledge about the place of humans in the world and the structure of the space. Earth is one of the elements of world creation, a symbol of the genus, a point of connection between plants, animals, humans world and the universe as the one organism.

Earth is a resource, territory, power. In the era of consumer society, the notion of the land of ancient civilizations replaced the notions of achieving mercenary goals. It provokes the mankind problems: from environmental problems to geopolitical disputes and wars.

The ancient archetypal symbol of the earth, fertile soil – a field filled with dots. The artist transforms this simbol into a game and proposes to create a discussion platform. Rule of the game - in your turn, put one dot. The goal of the game is to capture the opponent's dots. As opposed to players, the artist will fill the canvas with dots completely, raising the issues of preserving the earth's resources and the integrity of the territories.

Oleksiy Zaitsev is an artist from Kyiv, Ukraine. He is an organizer and curator of the Carbonarium international performance art festival. Oleksiy works primarily in fields of performance art and interactive/partisipative installations. He is interested with an idea of household (routine) rituals and creation of neoteric myths. In his projects he studies the concept of time, connection between historical events and the present, and cyclical nature of these events.

Sprouts Installation of sculptures inspired by world of plant, by growing up organisms – often still invisible to our eye and by photographic work of Karl Blossfeldt. One important part of our landscape is the world of plants. We need them and we use them. We need them as a food and we admire their beauty. And in both cases people like to change their properties. We modify plants to make them more resistant or to look like more beautiful to us. During the ages people learned not to accept given conditions but to stimulate preferable conditions. Probably this is the origin of our “success”. If it is long term success we can only see in the future and all questions concerning ecology are related to it.

Jana Horálková is a sculpture and installation artist. Her objects create certain spaces with a specific function. Jana's interest relies on possibilities and limitations of space, connections, relations and functions of spaces.

Last Meal On Earth Every five seconds a child dies because of hunger. Food waste, dumpster diving, party!  "Our civilization is slowly diying and we dont even have fun from it. Waste is flooding our planet day by day and we dont even enjoy it. More than 30% of all food is wasted, and there are still people who die just because they lack it. We care about the ''deadly'' impact of plastic straws but not the rest of plastic waste. Society is like a big herd that does just what is "intersting" or "cool" in that moment. Not what is best for the people - people diyng on streets without shelter, without food, without love. Lets have fun! Lets have love. Lets change this narative. Lets enjoy out last day on Earth - before we will be flooded by waste, before we die by hunger. Apocallypse is now and we have to enjoy it! This is invitation for last meal on Earth! It will be fun, no sad moments. We burry Earth with all property and with all honour – now, till we still have time.

Energeia Wet meeting of Darina Alster and Kateřina Olivová, two performers, artists, teachers, curators, goddesses and singers. In relation to their destinies and corporality, they meet each other in many roles. They think through their body and actions. Each of them comes from different place to perform miraculous yet human female encounters based on their present-day social action in the feminist studio of old, new and all media. Transforming Energy - power, sexual, creative, my, your, our, their ... The word energy comes from the Greek word energeia, which means will, strength or ability to act.

Darina Alster is a dark star of artistic sky, vixen, witch, female, goddess, mother. Magic beautiful woman living in mystical plane. She comes from the realm of shadows that gradually transforms into exotic flowers. Darina works with love, depth and mystery. She is archetypal, mythical, unique and very serious. Darina is formally moving in some sort of artistic timelessness, somewhere between now and never.

Kateřina Olivová is a rainbow pony in disguise. She lazily floats and lies naked among the children in the park, is alive only from breast milk and doesn't think much. With her soft matter, she contemplates life, people, society. Her buttocks touch the rules and the breasts change structures. She takes herself deadly seriously. She is still fulfilling her dreams.

Eva Jašková [CZE]

Microbiome II Human body experienced through bacterial symbiosis. SCOBY is my friend, I want to be like him and to do something good. That is why I am more activist now. I want to be part of symbiotic culture. SCOBY is not worried, it is symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast. We are looking for salvation from the doom land which we as humankind are creating from this planet. We want to buy our indulgence and we are chasing away our environmental grieve by consuming more eco/bio products and as byproduct we are accelerating the capitalistic greed. I have the deep wish to become another- to enhance the capacity of imagination of non-human. To be able to tune on level where the mesh of connections is not questioned. To become symbiotic part of the environment.

Eva Jašková is not sure anymore if she is an artist. After finishing her master degree at Academy of Arts, design and Architecture (UMPRUM) in Prague she has lived her nomadic post studio practice life in Iceland, Finland, Turkey and Armenia, always moving aware of her carbon footprint (mainly hitchhiking and biking). In her installations and video performances she is focused on social and ecological problems of contemporary world. Body in post industrial landscape, mining areas and romantic search for place to rest in new wilderness and mimicking another and searching for new forms of communication on state of ontological becoming. Symbiotic organisms as lichens, sourdough and kombucha are partners in this artistic research. In her diploma work she was exploring theme of ISIS (Islamic State) through hyperbolic work on story of invasive plants and their migration. Story of plant Impatiens glandulifera personified into fairytale like history exploring colonial past and consequences of human behavior. “In my works I demonstrate how life extends beyond its own subjective limits and telling a story about the effects of global cultural interaction over the latter half of the twentieth century. In video-installation “Prednadrazi” I reflect problems of housing discrimination of Roma community. As a rag at shopping window of abandoned historical shopping textile house I worked with black market and animal trafficking issues. Smuggling aesthetics mimicking technics of legal trading system. But now, the life in the Anthropocene is full of overwhelming turbulences and thread of Climate Crises which we are facing right now needs immediate action so there is no time for hanging around gallery space. The place of art is everywhere else.

Claude Boudeau [FRA]

Icones In his performances, Claude Boudeau tries to explore the tragic dimension of the human being, reversed, pushed, or thrown on the floor by the loss of its human balance. Between rituals and rites of passage, Claude engages his body in a confrontation sometimes sensual, sometimes revolted, with its environment.

Claude Boudeau is a young artist living and working in Besançon, France. He graduated in June 2017 from the Institut Supérieur des Beaux Arts de Besançon. He has since participated in several residency programmes in France and abroad (e.g. in Taiwan and Bangladesh), and showed his works in many performance festivals.
