It took me a long while to figure out my spirit animal. I knew it was some kind of bird from all those times I searched the skies for a graceful black speck, closing my eyes and pretending I could swap minds with the birds. The open sky just appeals to me, literally zooming out of the earth, putting things in perspective yet still so far away where nothing can reach me. Later I realised my spirit is a little mischievous, quick and snappy, easily underestimated, and a tad bit irritating. It could either be a parrot, or a small owl, or a sparrow. I picked the sparrow, for other obvious reasons. I've always been engrossed by the mystery of what thrives deep under the sea, where the light doesn't reach. From continent sized beasts to microscopic organisms, to luminescent jellyfish, to multicoloured reefs. What creatures survive there daily?
