When?
The Renaissance happened from the XIV century to the mid-XVII century.
What?
The Renaissance is defined as the beggining of the Modern Age. As a result of new discoveries, people began to see the world in different ways. It was an age of geographical, science, cultural and music breakthroughts.
Chain of being:
"There was a hierarchy of things on Earth”: The world was organized as a pyramid, and the educated human was on top of it. Before the Renaissance, there was only one superior being, and it was God.
Scientific Changes:
“Copernicus created the Heliocentric Model of the world”: Copernicus discovered that the Earth was not the center of the Universe. Instead, the Sun was the central axis of it.
Geographical Changes:
“Columbus discovered the New World”: When Columbus and his crew discovered America, Europeans expanded their view of the world. They learned that the planet is rounded and not flat.
Literature and Education Changes:
“Studies focused on old texts and exploring new ideas”: To improve your place in society (To be higher in the society chain) you had to be educated. The education was based in the study of old texts from Greek philosophers (like Plato and Aristoteles) and a re interpretation of their ideas.
