After everything the Pack had overcome through in the past years, after the exposure of supernaturals to the world and the laws that were passed because of it; a part of the wolf had hoped things in Beacon Hills would start to improve. Joy and tranquility wasn’t what the town was known for, but after everything they had lost, after all the sacrifices they had made…at least some quiet would have been appreciated.

It seemed however, even the minimum was too much to ask for, their semblance of peace interrupted by reports of four disappearances. Not many paid attention at first, most writing it off as runaways, the police unable to gather enough information to think otherwise. When two bodies appeared in the preserve though, it was obvious ignorance wasn’t an option, things only worsening when more details were leaked to the news outlets.

Whether the cause was supernatural or not, and whether the town liked it or not, the Pack decided they couldn't sit aside. Derek volunteered to inspect the crime scene, and he intended to go alone. The others weren't having it though, the traps that were apparently littered through the woods making it clear Scott’s buddy system would not be optional. So the wolf’s protest was ignored, and he found himself stuck with the person he least wanted to be in the forest with at three in the morning.

Derek caught the human's scent before he saw him enter the clearing, his footsteps almost completely inaudible as he approached Stiles and stood behind him. "You are late."
