It's been a trip! Tomorrow is the last day of #ArtSale2018, the longest bazaar I've sold at so far. I have been super blessed to be part of this event with these amazing and talented girls ☺️ It honestly did not start out well for me though. Problems popped up at home that I had to juggle with along side preparing for the sale. I also got sick for the first few days! I wasn't at my best for the first week and kept feeling like a haggard lady who needed extra warmth all the time 😅 But everyday I showed up. The smiles of people seeing my art and the enthusiastic compliments were such encouragement to me who has been in a bad slump for the past few months. Summer is a great time to practice skills you want to improve. Lots of young artists who have passed by the #artsale2018 booth have asked me, "How can I improve my art?". I think one of the best ways is to draw from real life. When you draw from real life you are forced to pay attention and focus since your subjects might move suddenly. Don't focus on capturing every single detail. Focus on the basic shapes you see first! I also practice drawing with intent. For instance, I would challenge myself to focus on body language or silhouette when I doodle. Pick a skill you'd like to improve on and focus on developing it over a time period. This can help focus your efforts. I'm so sorry that I wasn't at SM for our #ArtSale2018 opening yesterday 😭😭😭 I was bedridden because I got sicker suddenly. Feeling better today so I'll be staying in SM most of today.
