We know so many individuals and groups who are dedicated to building community in ways both big and small, even when we don’t entirely agree. And so as scary and infuriating as today is, we take comfort in our community and our neighbors in Astoria, Queens - knowing that when we reach for each other with acceptance, curiosity, creativity, respect, and love we are not only building a better neighborhood for all of us, but showing the rest of America that it can and should be done.
