Evaluation of Class
Of all the assignments in this unit, I would say my Ethical Consumerism poster was the "funnest" project. I enjoyed creating my poster because we could express our artsy-side, while still providing truthful info on an important topic. My group made a poster about the sweatshops, and child labor that is being used in many Asian countries to make Nike products. We learned a lot during this project, and after learning about this injustice I have become very passionate about it. I now plan to buy more Ethically and buy less stuff made in countries that use sweatshops.
I think my writing skills may have improved a little bit, as we had to write letters and essays about Social Justice. I think it mainly helps on an experience point of view. Now that I have written more letters and essays I feel I am more confident aboot' my writing skills.
One thing I really enjoyed about this whole class was that we learned about multiple social injustice's. In lots of classes I've been in, we have focused on one idea through-out the whole unit. But in this class we discussed many different topics like homelessness, drugs, child labor, etc. I really enjoyed learning aboot' all these interesting things. I cant wait to see what we discuss in the next unit.
