The sun was bright and hot. All around them, people were enjouing the beach but Yui was focused. Her sunglasses were blocking out the glare from the sun, but htye were also in danger of slipping off her sweaty face. 

It was her idea to do this beach doubles thing and Daichi had agreed to be her partner. She felt that they were a good team. They had one the first set and were leading the second one 15-11. She threw the ball to Daichi for his serve.

"Keep it up Sawamura-kun," she called to him. "Six more let's go!"

There were a million and one thoughts going through her head as Yui wandered around the gym, trying to find a quiet place to think for five minutes. She gave her team the speech, how she wasn't dissapointed but rather proud of them for fighting the good fight, holding their own against a tough opponent. But the other team was laughing and smiling as they walked off the court, not huffing and puffing like her team was. That had been the most humiliating part of the defeat.

Walking though the crowded hallway she spotted Daichi and hustled over. Without thinking, she wrapped her arms around him and buried her head in his jacket, her eyes burning from holding back tears.
