“I’d say it’s not that difficult to make me smile, but I feel like you’d probably know it’s a lie,” he said, knowing that smiles of all sorts came somewhat easily to him, despite his apparent resting bitch face.

“Naaaah.... no one is that lucky.” he grins lopsidedly despite the cut in his lip and the busted state of his face. “I’ve definitely come back looking worse from missions, I just got a little in over my head, won’t happen again.” he nods a bit. “Besides I like working alone, I don’t gotta worry about getting everyone home alive.” he chuckles.

It wasn’t the first time she’d taken a Greyhound, but Alex always looked forward to it. The greasy windows, the crusted seats, and the fain smell of acrid waste if she sat too far back--it all wrapped her up in a sense of wonder as she rode hundreds of miles even while asleep.
The Mojave Desert was elegant, and Alex fought sleep like a toddler as the Sun started to set. They were half-way between Amarillo and Reno, and had just settled into the longest stretch of the drive, still some eight or nine hours left through the vibrant desert when Alex finally lost the battle with sleep.
She couldn’t know that when she woke, everything would be different.
At some point, the bus pulled into a gas station, old and decaying, and the doors swung open, and the driver--the only other person on the bus besides her and a red-haired woman--got off, walking into the gas station and not walking out as the Sun finally vanished below the horizon.

“Maybe if you stopped looking like you’re about to eat me- and not in a fun way- I might,” Leonard shouted over his shoulder and kept going.

🕷️ → Stance is shifted as she turns to face the redhead. Not many people can sneak up on the young spider, her spider-senses would have something to do with that (and maybe the fact Natasha was a master assassin with years of experience may have helped just a little bit). Mouth agape as she struggled to string together simple a sentence. Her mind had gone blank, as she’d her gaze pulled away from Natasha and to the clock behind her “i-is that really the time?” words stumbled as she forced a smile settling her gaze back to Nat “I-HMM...was just hungry...post-patrol snack and all that” theres a quick pause as the timer buzzes “ah! do you want one?”

Matt wrinkled his nose at the boop. "Yeah, rebellion so long as it keeps within the confines of the law is more than okay. But you advocate for rebellion meaning murder and other illegal shit," he argued with a small smirk.

Archer chuckles at the ‘language’ and shakes his head. “Ah just some guy that frequents Sister Margaret’s.” he shrugs. “We have this weird things going on, a rivalry I guess?” he looks over at her. “Kinda this who ‘Who’s a better killer/merc’ thing going on, I win out more than he does and it usually ends with us fighting and then uh...” he clears his throat. “Sex.” he grins. “But he’s been getting weird lately.” there is a pause. “I think I am too.”
Feelings Archer. Those are called feelings.

Matt huffed. "So what, I'm just supposed to let you walk off into what's likely to be your death with nothing but a 'good luck' or some bullshit like that?"
