Was it better to return with a missive of failure, or to not return at all? There was no doubt the General, in her own way, would find a way punish the messenger for either offense. Drawing in a deep breath and pushing the door open with a shaky hand, the bearer of bad news slowly, ever so slowly, made a way toward the impatient, near hysterical Arya Strakov.

The first thing she sees are the faces of the men surrounding her; haggard, old leather-skinned faces, with shock in their sunken eyes, practically begging her to steal the life in those eyes and send their frail bones rattling to the ground around her.
I like this one. I think I'll keep it. ~*~ In other news I drew a thing. bleachedwhitegoddessofyaoi told me to. Blame her. It's all her fault. And the fault of the woman who kept me on the phone for 40 minutes at work while she "restarted her browser" and inspired me to drench the page in red marker ink. Yeah.
