Meanwhile, in Mississippi
Columbus & Greenville Railway number 606, a Baldwin AS416 built in 1951, works along the line. I believe this top image to have been made in Maben, Mississippi—the wooden structure is gone, but the brick building to the left allowed me to lock down the locale.
I cannot be completely sure of where the second image was taken, but I think it is east of Maben by ten miles, just off Billy White Road, near Pheba.
