Fighting during the Ascarian invasion of Earth, Areomin Army troops are pinned down after their APC was hit by that obvious position built by American civvies outfitted with military gear. A Marine strike team has arrived to assist and are using the APC as cover. At the corner of Hewitt and Lombard Ave.

This picture has been in progress one way or another since mid 2023. I’ve nearly given up on it several times. Originally it was conceived as the Ascarian pair to the Armored Patrol picture from the same year but it sort of ballooned out in scope.

Over all though, I am really happy I actually finished it and I love how it turned out. :D

Some time thinking on the worldbuilding for it too.

Old Ascarian History: A young Ascarian watches out the window as the lava from the Galovara Eruption approaches her home. One of her parents watching the news report gets up in the foreground in panic. -- I originally avoided drawing pieces from the Ascarian POV since noone would understand their language, but I decided to just use english for the art pieces so I could finally do some of these ideas. More work for my worldbuilding project. This incident happens in their version of the 60-70-80s

Spaceshiptember 2024 Day 17: Blue An Ascarian Dackon-class Frigate in its wartime livery from the early days of the Human-Ascarian War.

Galeya Hastrav and the K3R-05 of which she is lead pilot in the post-war era. The GELOTEV Heavy Lift Transport K3R-05 [Referred to as the Manta Ray by Human forces] is a versatile transport craft with a variety of different configurations. Notably used during the war by Areomin Navy and Ground forces as their primary vehicle and cargo transport. It continued to act as the backbone of space naval forces well into the next administration. -- Another thing for that original story universe I'm working on.

Early Ascarian space exploration began to take off in the wake of their planet's volcanic driven climate shift and ecological collapse. While initial projections were dire, it turned out to be possible to weather the storm; But they still took to the stars.
