The hug was surprising, but not at all unwanted, smiling when he felt Kalani’s arms wrap around him as he worked in the small kitchen in the apartement they used for the mission they had been sent on. It was a simple recon mission, just to get the layout of a city where Talon was said to roam about, and Overwatch wanted to know where possible hide-outs could be - but they didn’t want Genji and Kalani engaging them, they could go into hiding and they’d lose the trail.Thus, Genji and Kalani were simply told to pretend to be tourists or something along those lines, and Genji could do that perfectly well.
Genji had gotten up very early that morning, deciding to make them both breakfast, but breakfast in bed was interrupted when he heard Kalani pad over to him and wrap their arms around him. “Morning. Sleep well?”, he looked away from the pan he had in his hand to look behind him where a sleep-tousled Kalani was still hugging him. To be perfectly honest, he could feel his heart growing about three sizes with affection.
