ahaha it’s from my list of things jonny’s not good at gifset!
i’m not sure if you’re referring to what’s going on in the gif, or how it ties to the actual gifset but i’m assuming it’s the former? (if you’re wondering about the gifset, the explanation behind its existence is in the post itself)
anyway, the gif itself is jonathan toews at the height of his competitiveness, displaying his complete inability to lose gracefully. it was from the 2011 all-star skills competition during the accuracy shooting portion.
basically, sharpy and jonny were on different all-star teams and competing against each other one-on-one. sharpy won after successfully shooting at all four targets first. but jonny being jonny contested that and wanted a do-over because he started later than sharpy because he didn’t hear the starting whistle and he just wanted to be clear on the rules ok. spoiler alert: they did it over and jonny won this time. and then he shrugs while skating back like the jerk he is, all oh hey i won nbd. meanwhile sharpy and the rest of us are just cackling because holy cow, what a jonathan toews thing to do. like wow, you can’t make this stuff up ahahaha amazing

Awesome sliding catch by Toronto Blue Jays Outfielder Jose Bautista in the 2nd inning of the ASG to send Brian McCann back to the NL dugout.
JoeyBats went 1-2 on the night, a fine effort by the well deserved 2 time All-Star. Though he got a bit greedy on the base paths in 4th inning and was tagged out by McCann after a perfect rely from Houston Outfielder Hunter Pence.
After that tag at home I bet McCann was like "Last time you take a hit away from me!"
On a serious note....
I think JB's skills in the outfield get entirely overlooked by his ability to go yard in practically every at bat. Sure it's nice to be known as the guy with the powerful stick, but I'm sure just once in awhile Jose would like to be praise for his other skills as a player.
i like the all-star game because all my favorite people (well, most of them) are in one place.
