donating my favorite organ, perhaps, my most prized, perhaps the one adorned with most sentiment; my brain.

the brain? you may wonder. the brain, of course, is known least for its sentiment and most for its logic; it’s in the heart, surely, that these things lie.

it’s up to the brain, though, isn’t it? to interpret pangs of melancholy as such? to separate giddiness from fear in a quickening pulse? if not for the brain, these signals would go unfelt, unnoticed.

therein lies the flaw in this argument, however; without the heart pumping blood, the brain would cease to function, would it not? and without the brain functioning, the heart would cease to pump.

alas, a brain on it’s own is a fairly useless donation, unless of course you’re fond of meaningless bundles of flesh. to remedy this?

the heart, too, shall come your way, yes, and then you’ll have unlocked it; all my sentiments, my fears, my wishes, even thoughts. all my memories yours to peruse, all my hopes for the future yours to scan through. what a donation, right?

perhaps that’s the only way, in the end, to know someone. without their heart, all you can do is pick an unenthusiastic brain for surface-level facts, and without the brain, you’re left with a blind passion and little behind it.

a donation of the heart and the brain? yes, then—i suppose that will have to do.

will starts decorating for halloween in mid-august. he's a year-round halloween kind of guy. he decks out the entire house

mike is the one who buys the candy to set out. will always ribs him about his choices though lol

even before they get together they always coordinate their costumes, whether that's a full-party group costume or something that's just for them

they watch a ton of horror movies together

at some point, when they're older, will proposes that they dress up as demogorgons. mike is Not amused

they dressed up as sam and frodo from lotr once as kids, and once as adults. lucas and dustin flat-out refused to be merry and pippin and went as legolas and aragorn instead
