I had my first proper training session today for roller derby and I'm just so happy because I've finally found a sport I really enjoy and am motivated to do the stretches and exercises to get better at it and it's so much fun and the people are so great and one of the women is skating in the world cup next week which is wild (also she's Czech so her derby name is Czech...and next week in the world cup she's skating as Czech for Czech which is wild) and honestly I am still a little shocked that I've found a sport I love this much
Internet shopping when you have ADHD and have not taken your meds is very risky I am now going to be the proud owner of 3 identical jumpers (bc they look like chainmail so for cosplay purposes) and 10 more dice sets
You know what really bothers me? My therapist told me CBT is 100% effective for depression. That's absolute bullshit. You can't say something is '100% effective but you have to put in the work' because if it isn't working that then makes you feel like you're not working hard enough and you blame yourself for not getting better and spiral. And nothing is ever 100% effective in medicine whether it's physical or mental. Not to mention there's been a lot of recent studies about CBT to try to figure out if it's actually as effective as initially thought-spoiler alert, it probably isn't. Due to publication bias, placebo effect, control conditions in trials, and also quality of trials-not to mention with mental disorders you don't always have concrete measuring tools and a lot has to be anecdotal-CBT most likely isn't as effective as it was thought to be. It's effective sure, but not 100%. Nothing is.
So turns out my cousin is friends with Isaac Hempstead Wright (bran from game of thrones) bc he's in the flat above hers at uni how weird
One great thing about working in retail is that when pretty girls try on pretty dresses I can tell them how amazing they look without it being weird
I went to see a roller derby game (game? Match?) today it was amazing I never thought I would enjoy sport that much? But there were so many people with bright hair or girls with short hair and tattoos and the whole aesthetic was amazing and it's also a really cool sport and I just really enjoyed it
