@arvaarad-ashaqun
//Add Ash’s horns to his height, and the dude is about 9ft tall lol
In Par Vollen, he is just a tall guy. In Thedas, he is a freaking giant!

1. What would completely break your character?
I think loosing anotherSaarebas to violence would be Ash’s final breaking point. He completely lostcontrol when his last was killed on Seheron, going into a rage and turning onboth friend and foe alike, trying to protect his dead Saarebas.
Ash is an older guy and ispretty worn out mentally/emotionally/spiritually from years of huntingTal-Vashoth, Seheron rebels and Tevinter battlemages. He has seen so many ofhis brothers in arms die in battle and he mourns every one lost, but losing aSaarebas is the worst for him.
When you have towatch/guide/control someone 24/7, you get to know them very well and care forthem despite the danger that they pose as a Saarebas. Plus, Ash is a big softyunderneath it all, has great respect for Saarebas that accept the Qun, and getsattached easily.
3. What was the worst thing inyour characters life?
So far, losing his lastSaarebas. His last one was a Dalish Elf capture named Salen who was rescuedfrom a Tevinter slave ship. Salen was extremely hostile and refused to bend tothe Qun, so he was about to be considered worst case and was about to have histongue cut out when Ash offered to take him on.
He worked incredibly hardto rehabilitate Salen, undoing all the harm caused by other Arvaarads and focusthe Elf’s anger into something useful. He never got Salen to accept the Qun inhis heart, but he got the elf to cooperate by allowing him to get revenge onVints for getting him in this situation in the first place.
AKA killing any Vint theycame across whether it was a part of the mission or not.
Eventually Ash fell headsover heels in love with Salen, admiring his fire, determination and dry wit. Inprivate, Ash called Salen Kadan and Salen was the one to come up with thenickname Ash-Aqun for Ash.
But unfortunately Salen’srevenge path lead to his own death at the hands of a Tevinter Battlemage andcaused Ash to go into a rage, as mentioned above. It took about a year ofhealing and re-education before Ash was ready to take on another Saarebas.
Losing Salen was the worstthing to ever happen to Ash and he was same after. He was Salen’s Arvaarad forfourteen years.
11. For what would theygive their life for?
For the Qun, obviouslylol
But I think deep down, ifAsh wasn’t so afraid of spirits and demons, he would give his life to one tobring Salen back. Obviously he wouldn’t actually get Salen back because demons,but it is a thought he has entertained at some of his low points.
