Her face is ice, hard and cold and unmoving, and he thinks it's been that way for a long time. She is so young, this She-Wolf of Winterfell, yet men of three kingdoms bend the knee for her, and her name is said with respect from Dorne to beyond what is left of the Wall.
He could have been her husband once (and that's right, he thinks, he would have been her's. He can't imagine this woman, with her up-turned chin and eyes like daggers, ever belonging to anyone.) He could have married her in the sept at Highgarden and placed a crown of yellow roses on her head. He could have protected her from the lions that clawed at her without mercy. He could have made her happy.
Instead she'd crowned herself, the Queen of Winter, queen over the North, the Riverlands, and the Vale, before bending the knee to the Dragon Queen and King. She reminded the entire realm that the North remembered, and direwolves bit and clawed as fiercely as lions.
He doubts he could make her happy now, though. This is a woman with winter in her bones, not the girl in love with chilvalry and songs that his sister had described to him years ago. He doubts anyone could break through the walls of steel and stone and ice that she has erected around herself. He doubts she would even let anyone try.
But then the king calls an end to court, and suddenly she is there, all red hair and blue eyes and gods, smelling of roses. She is every bit the refined lady he'd always imagined, despite her polished mask of indifference, or perhaps because of it. She surprises him by being utterly forward and inviting him to sup with her, and he seems to surprise her when he agrees a tad too quickly. There's a smile on her face that doesn't appear forced when she takes her leave of him, and it makes him wonder if he could make her smile again.
He thinks he'd very much like to try.
For the captain of the USS Willas/Sansa, asharaofstarfall
Drabble for Niamh. GoT/ASOIAF board game fic. Lord help me....
"You know, you should probably apologize." Sansa whispers as Roslin and Willas argue over whether or not her being locked up in the Twins means she loses her next turn or not. Robb gives his sister his best 'you've got to be kidding me' look and asks why. "You hurt her feelings." Robb frowns at his sister as she calmly sorts the coins in the bank. "She married our uncle and had me and Greywind murdered at her wedding. And you're telling me her feelings were hurt? What about my feelings?" Sansa gives him the look that says she thinks he's being an idiot and says "Who was it who landed on the 'get married' square first and who did he say he was getting married too?" Robb felt his face flush. "It was a joke!" "Yeah well, it hurt her feelings." Robb turns back to the game but finds himself casting glances at Roslin for the next half-hour. When it's finally time for Willas and Roslin to head home, he pulls her off to the side. "You know I was just joking about marrying Jeyne Westerling right? I mean, it's just a game." He gives her what he hopes is his most earnest look. Roslin frowns at him for a moment before giving him one of her brilliant smiles. "Sure Robb. No worries, no harm done. And for the record, your Uncle is way too old for me." Robb grins at her, "Yeah, that would just be weird." They laugh and hug goodbye, but as Roslin turns to head down to the car she says "But if she thinks I'm gonna let her partner with you in Biology again, she can forget it."

The Lannisters just have a talent for inspiring feels. All of them. Every Lannister, every feel. *lesigh* the life of a Lannister stan is a painful one :(
If anyone else out there has tragic feels for Tybolt Lannister (not Tytos, but Tytos's FATHER), that person needs to contact me.

Gerion will forever be my fave.
ngl, I literally just waved my hand at my dashboard and said aloud, "No no I have more than enough Gerion feelings to go around, that wasn't an exclusive feelings post."

Hello! Not sure if you saw, but a friend and I were discussing how Tyrion's character would have been different had he been born able-bodied, and we're talking about attempting some form of fic on the matter - as the oracle of all things Tyrion, I had to ask if you had an opinion one way or the other?
You know, I've actually talked about this a bit before. Like, I think it would definitely be an interesting fic because, tbh, I personally have trouble imagining what Tyrion would be like had he been born able-bodied. I mean, so much of who he is has been directly or indirectly influenced by his disability experience - the way the world has treated him because of his body type. I'm thinking of the way he seems to display empathy in a way his siblings do not - that's distinctly "un-Lannister," and I don't think Tyrion would have even understood the idea of empathy had he been born able-bodied. The only reason he recognizes that privilege exists (and still, he misses privileges that don't affect him negatively a good part of the time) is because he's been denied so many throughout his life.
Then there's the way he defines himself through his interactions with others - the way they treat him and the way he treats them. Would this be the case had his treatment not been so markedly different from others' because of his appearance? He certainly wouldn't have built up the defense mechanisms that play into his personality, at least on the surface. What does that mean for his biting wit?
Would he be like Jaime? Would he be like Tywin? He's a lot like Cersei now in some ways, but would those similarities still exist if their experiences in society weren't so parallel? I don't know. But I'd totally be interested in a fic that tried to work that out.
I was feeling accomplished until this particular harpy I know/best friend told me there was more I have to read.
Niamh, I'm talking to you. *side-eye*
You're lucky I like you sometimes.
