There’s something enjoyable about drawing teeth, no matter how realistic or caricaturized. I think outside of facial expressions and body language, teeth have a lot of personality on their own and can say a lot about character.

One of the backers requested Tywin Lannister instead of a portrait of themselves. I really love the A Song of Ice and Fire series so I was more than happy to oblige. These two are among my favorites from the portraits.

Inked commission I did of palpad‘s character. Got to try out a new brush; I especially enjoy the resulting texture.

Hey all. Here are some process shots of a bird a sculpted for mini-show and talk by Diane Bigda at the Isabella Steward Gardner Museum in Boston. The sculpture may be featured in a future show, depending on whether or not her pitch is accepted.
Just look at my tiny little, messy space in my room. Now imagine me sitting there like a goblin, sculpting for about 90 hours.
Unfortunately I don’t have any higher quality photos or pictures of the armature. I haven’t sculpted in about four years, so I’m a little rusty (I’m sure that accounts for time it took for me to complete this). Something I’m very satisfied with is how the bird has the balance and weight to stand on its feet without support! But I’ll be damned if I risk anything knocks it over, so I’ll won’t be having it stand on its own.
Once the it’s returned to me I plan on taking well lit photographs with a back drop.
Lapis and Pearl are probably my favorites to draw (and Sardonyx,of course).
Basically just trying to get the character’s silhouettes and characteristics down in my sketchbook so I can draw them better from memory.
