Getting to Know Me Questions
Getting to know me questions… I was tagged by burlesonspride!
Questions:
1: What are you looking forward to in the next week?
My mom and step-dad are coming to visit for 5 days!
2: What type of art could you always appreciate, but never see yourself doing?
Music. I love listening to music and actually never drive without the radio on or walk without my headphones on. However, I can’t do any sort of music related task at all. I can’t sing, I don’t carry or even understand tunes; I can’t move to a beat (apparently watching me try to dance is equally hilarious and cringe-worthy), I can’t read music. I can’t even whistle. My body cannot create or react to music in any way, except to just listen and enjoy it.
3: What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever experienced?
Motherhood. It hard and easy and complicated and simple and terrifying and joyful and exhausting and exhilarating and boring and fascinating all at the same time. I have no idea what I’m doing but I’m doing it!
4: Try and describe your closest friend in the silliest way possible.
She’s a parking garage Cinderella-Sleeping Beauty, lost shoe and all. (This is what happens when you steal keys from a valet stand, take a nap in a stranger’s car and then leave your shoe behind so the poor valets are looking for the girl with a missing shoe who stole keys from them. She did return the keys. They returned the shoe).
5: Best surprise you’ve ever gotten.
I’m very controlling and nosy and I love spoilers (I read the last pages of books first. It’s true. I’m terrible!), so I’m almost never surprised by anything. Corgdad did surprise me with his marriage proposal though. I knew he was going to propose that day (I just KNEW. He can’t keep secrets from me), but I thought he was going to do it during some quiet moment just to ourselves. Instead he got the whole zoo staff involved and they called us up to participate in an educational demonstration (which they’d created just for the purpose of his proposal) and he did it in front of a whole crowd. I didn’t want to even be part of the demonstration and then was totally shocked and confused and embarrassed and convinced that he was screwing up the whole educational program – and actually chided him in the middle of his proposal. Finally he was all, “It’s ok! They know! See the whole staff watching – and filming?” The zoo posted the video of it on YouTube. I’ll see if I can find it.
6: Chocolate or vanilla?
Chocolate. Always chocolate. Everything covered in chocolate.
7: What female celebrity do you wish was your sister?
I’m going to steal Mel’s answer and go with Kelly Clarkson. She’s the best!
8: What was your favorite TV show when you were a child?
As a young kid we weren’t allowed to watch much TV, but we watched our VHS recordings of The Sound of Music and The Wizard of Oz pretty much 24/7. They were taped off the TV too so my sister and I had memorized the commercials as well as the movies.
As a teenager it was the X-Files. My dad and I even went to a convention once. Mulder and Scully will always be my OTP.
9: What would your parents have named you if you were the opposite gender?
I have no idea. They wanted 2 girls and got 2 girls.
10: How many countries have you been to?
America (does that count?), Canada, Mexico, Peru, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Luxembourg, Switzerland, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Israel and Egypt. So, 18? Wow. I’ve been to all of them (except Israel and Turkey) at least twice, too.
We are starting to save up now so that when Baby is old enough we can travel to a foreign country every summer. I think experiencing so many different cultures as a kid was more valuable of an education than anything I learned in college or grad school, by far.
I would have answered this from the prospective of the corgis, but all of their answers would have been food and barking related.
