Hannah: You two better behave yourselves this year. Lou: Does she think she is our mom? I am a freakin angel. Kat: I don’t know what either one of you is talking about. I was the least problematic member of our tribe last year. I was just grounded all the damn time. Henrietta: Who is the new guy? Taylor: I don’t know but I heard he is just as good as Larkin and Coach West wants him starting this year. So you know that means Hannah will probably go chasing after another golden boy. Hannah: Larkin texted me this morning and told me to make senior year my bitch. He is already swamped with homework and his semester just started. Lou: Poor Larkin. Life is so hard. Kat: He is right though we need to make this year our bitch and we can’t let certain people get to us like they did last year. Taylor: That’s the bell let’s go, Henrietta. Henrietta: Hannah wouldn’t go chasing after the new guy. She really loves Larkin. Taylor: Who cares. Let’s go.

When We Collide 

For the most part, Monday was great everything seemed back to normal but around our last period, things went horribly wrong. Kat, Lou and I were hanging out before class when Henrietta came down the stairs headed God knows where. That’s when Kat jumped into action and things started happening way too fast.

Kat: Hey bitch!

Lou:Oh shit.

Henrietta: Umm are you seriously talking to me?

Lou: At least she knows her name.

Hannah: Kat please don’t do this.

Kat: Yes, I am talking to you! You are a bully and a bitch and who do you think you are treating my best friend like that when she did nothing to you! How dare you ever do that to Hannah! She is ten times a better person than your skank ass will ever be!

Larkin: Woah I have never heard Kat talk like this.

Asher: Oh God this is not good.

Henrietta: Are you serious? How could Hannah possibly prove my point even more that she is so pathetic than you fighting her battles for her?

Kat: I am not fighting Hannah’s battles for her! She wanted to be the bigger person, but I chose to take you down a few notches because you think you are the best thing ever when you are just trash! The way you act is sad, and I feel sorry for you that you have to overcompensate this much Henrietta.

Henrietta: Fuck you, Kat! You are the one that is overcompensating! You hang out with a freak and a miserable loser that is upset that I took the guy she is pathetically in love with. Boo fucking hoo! Your friends are fucking dumb, and I feel sorry for you that you were left behind to deal with them.

Lou: Fuck you, Henrietta.

Asher: Oh shit she didn’t just say that!

I am not sure how far Kat got before Asher grabbed her and stopped her from beating the daylights out of Henrietta but he was having a hell of a time keeping her back.

Henrietta: Fuck you, Kat! I am not scared of you! I will kick your ass any time!

Kat: We get out at 4:00 bitch meet me in the parking lot! Don’t be a punk!

Lou: This is so great!

It only took a little bit for me to stop being anxious about prom. Kat, Lou and I were having a blast dancing in our gowns. Asher and Larkin stayed out of our way for the most part. I think my face started to hurt from all of my smiling and laughing.

Larkin and I met up with Kat and Asher during our lunch period in the culinary hall. Asher: Dude I bet you are so glad we don’t have any sports right now. I always feel bad for you because Coach stays on your back about being in shape. Larkin: My dad wouldn't really let up even over the break if I wasn’t with Hannah I was conditioning. I guess that’s what I get for having a coach for a dad. Asher: Man I am sorry that is rough.

Larkin: It’s cool I gotta be able to keep up with Hannah anyway so the more in shape the better. Kat: Did Lou go to see a certain older brother off today? Hannah: I didn’t see her at my house this morning, but Wyatt said he expected company so maybe. I don’t understand those two I thought Lou was talking to that girl in Hartford? Kat: She said she was too clingy and didn’t like how close we all were so Lou said peace out. Hannah: Yeah, that will do it. Asher: You girls already planning your dresses for the prom? Hannah: Not really but I didn’t plan on going. Kat: Hannah now you have to go! Larkin: Not if she doesn’t want to and I wouldn’t make her. As we headed out the doors toward class Larkin leaned in to give me a hug before he ran off. Hannah: I would go to prom if you wanted to go. Larkin: Well, I was hoping to ask you to it.

No surprise that Asher and Kat went to prom together but a bit more shocking was that Lou showed up with Ky Gwan. Lou told us Ky texted her and asked if she was interested in going together. Since Lou didn’t really want to go with anyone else that asked her in our class, she figured it wouldn’t hurt to go with Ky.

The balanced had tipped to anger by the time Larkin had found me in the hallway next to Kat. Henrietta: Well, this should be fun. Taylor: You are so funny, Henrietta. Hannah: Here comes Larkin. Kat: Hannah remember you need to talk to him. I know yo- I didn’t let her finish her sentence because my rage had built up too far and I was ready to blow. I had managed to stomp my way over to Larkin and I was ready to give him a piece of my mind. Hannah: YOU LIED TO ME YOU ASSHOLE! Ky and Kian: What in the hell is going on. Asher: Uh, do I even want to know? Kat: Nope. I just wished she would have listened to me. Larkin: Hannah what are you talking about? Hannah: I can’t believe you, Larkin! I trusted you and you lied to my face and you kissed Henrietta at the party! Kian: Oh shit. This just got interesting. Larkin: I did not kiss he- Hannah: If you are going to lie about it, save your breath I really just don’t want to hear it. Henrietta: Oh poor Hannah. Larkin: Hannah let’s just go somewhere and talk about this. This isn’t something the whole school needs to know about. Kian: Nah we all need to hear this. Kat and Asher: Shut up Kian. Hannah: I don’t want to go anywhere with you Larkin West.

When We Collide 

Kat pulled me aside to talk to me about what happened at school and I knew that she felt bad about making a scene and Henrietta announcing to everyone there that I was in love with Larkin.

Kat: Hannah, I am so sorry that she said that and I understand if you are upset with me but I just got so angry because you are my best friend and I would move heaven and earth for you.

Hannah: You lady are my best friend, and I could never be mad at you. I am embarrassed, but I will just make sure I avoid Larkin until he graduates.

Kat: I think that is a bit much Hannah but I am glad you still love me. Still gonna grow old together and live happily ever after?

Hannah: If we make it that far I think we might need to watch out for cars on the street now.

Kat: Oh my gosh! Hannah, I can not believe I told her to meet me in the parking lot at four!

Hannah: The best part was you waiting, and she never showed up! Kat, you should have seen the look on her face when you ran toward her I thought she was going to back down but she has too much pride for that.

Kat: I think I did see it, but I was so full of rage all I really saw was red and wanting to knock her to the floor. I would do anything for you, Hannah, you know that right? When I am done being grounded I will not be missing out on all the fun stuff.

Hannah: I know you do, and I hope that there isn’t any more fun stuff.

Kat: Who wants me to be ungrounded scream AHH YEAH!

Asher and Lou: AHH YEAH!

I should have gone with Larkin to talk, but I was too angry and just didn’t care who saw me yelling at him. I was giving Henrietta exactly what she wanted and I walked right into the trap she had set for me. Henrietta: Oh, this is just too great. Taylor: Henrietta, you are an actual genius. Asher and Kat looked at Henrietta and Taylor enjoying the show that was happening right in front of their faces. Asher: Henrietta is admiring her handiwork I am sure. Kat: She is going to regret this. Hannah: Why would you think that lying to me was a good idea? I trusted you and you just throw that trust away! I thought you wanted to be with me and being with me is not lying to my damn face, Larkin! Lying to me is not kissing Henrietta as soon as I turn my damn back! Larkin: Hannah, please. Please let’s go somewhere else and talk about this.

Larkin was begging me and his eyes were starting to water. Ky: Come on Kian let’s get away from this drama. Kian: You can go. I am staying right here. Hannah: Why! Why would I want to go to talk about it with you now? Right here is perfectly fine! Let’s tell the whole school how you are an asshole! This isn’t what I pictured dating you would be like. Larkin: Hannah. I- I am sorry. Henrietta: Mission accomplished. My job here is done. Hannah: Save it, Larkin. Just stay away from me right now. I don’t want to see your face.
