“Kiss me you idiot.” (nina)
They were complicated. Since from the first moment both of them accidentally met each other in a local Kingsholm bar near four years ago, nothing was uncomplicated for them. The way he was nudged in that precise moment, spilling the alcoholic beverage all over the brunette. It was a jammed pack evening at the bar. There wasn’t anything special for the evening beside it being a Friday night. Everyone was off of work and treating themselves to a pregaming of a weekend buzz. Just like Porter desired to experience. Of course, a sharp response over his careless hands was immediately returned back to him. It took him half a second to be startled by the captivating beauty of the other and a lame attempt to justify the moment with a invigorating demeanor as if he hadn’t for the first time experienced a thump in his chest because of her. A secret confided in the walls of his heart to this day. It was something that made him get through his day but that moment was something brand new. It’s what made things refreshing for that point on. It was why the natural sway from their attempt of a classic, friends with benefit relationship turn into one with feelings and a dream of growing old with her. Even to this day, an older, not as wise Porter, stood by forever stunned by the beauty of Nina Valdes after constant incidents of accidentally running into her and making light of minor moments shared between them. The taller man stood there helpless in front of her after moments of silence engulfed them far too much to his dislike.
There been few moments less where Porter hadn’t been attempting to get underneath her skin but remain civil for the sake of the emotions overtaking him at every beating moment. Allowing her to have the last word, as even the curiosity of Sophia further fluttered his mind. It had been something he discussed with Daniela in the past couple of weeks after running into Nina and the young girl attached to her side. The way Porter was able to look down at Sophia and feel something in his heart flutter. May it be the fact it was a once in a lifetime dream where Porter wanted to be a father himself. After all, the idea briefly crossed his mind with the woman standing near him, as he remained silent, helplessly staring at her as the words were barely forming on his tongue to explain why he decided to show up on her front doorstep unexpectedly. His mind wandered aimlessly, leading him to the one place where he’d never expect himself to appear since his return back to town. Every one of their encounters happened in public setting, though, keeping a hushed tone midst anger overflowing was the greatest challenge when Porter said things to purposely hurt himself further. Now, he was further aching with the pain and the deep regret of ever leaving her for the search of his mother to gather information about the woman who abandoned him, his sister and his father and brought this grand commitment and intimacy issues throughout their family. Words weren’t his strongest forté. Maybe in his wildest dreams, in the future, there was a part of him able to finally break those folds further against his chest and on his heart to let her further in to see the complicated mess of him. As soon as he wanted to open his mouth, oceanic hues having admired her helplessly in the moment but growing stunned by her next words.
He didn’t need another moment to decide over whether or not this was the right decision. Everything he knew about it was all Porter wanted. If there was one thing he could do, it was put all of the effort of his feelings into a kiss. Instantly, he launched toward her, chilly hands finding and cupping her cheek as they instantly warmed his own hands, lips hovering near hers for a brief moment to catch light of how close he was finally toward her after all of these years, on-top of the weeks of their constant arguing. The spark and the desperation of his lips being against hers pressed against her plump petals. His other hand slithering on the small of her back, further pulling her body closer to him as he slowly lead them both into the warmth of her home, wanting to get out of the chilly Kingsholm autumn settling around them. Lips working against hers with passion and desperation for her to understand, to feel the emotions unbearable for Porter to express with words. The way he could remind her over how much she meant to him was by how everything overpowered in him in the moment. The way he found himself lost in the kiss, hues tightly shut as he desperately knew a catch of air was needed but he didn’t want to fall out of this moment. Not yet. He didn’t know how much time he had left with her before something else came up and there was an outburst between them. The last thing he wanted to remember between them was the beautiful erupting moment of their lips moving against each other, their bodies carefully roaming over each other with clothes present. As he felt the tightness for air filling his chest, he needed to part before once more, deepening and delivering the passion of the kiss before pulling apart, hues flickering open to catch a visual of Nina after the declaration of the kiss. Slowly catching his breath, his mouth corners raised toward the ceiling, as a glint of happiness twinkled in those oceanic hues, knowing it was a start to remind her over how much she continued to live on in his heart and how much she meant to him. It was a start to something more.
