What an interesting question! The Earth definition of a “year” as you know it is largely meaningless on the Ark. The time it takes us to complete a single orbit around Aldebaran is different than Earth’s! Additionally, the Ark happens to exist on a different plane of reality than the world you came from. Would the year here mean anything in your world...?

All that aside, I will endeavor to provide an answer. Records indicate that the Ark commenced operations approximately 21 Earth years ago.
